Can that be disabled? I remapped my zoom to require a right mouse click hold along with the scroll wheel. That’s made a world of difference. Set up buttons on my HOTAS for it...I'm a much happier (and saner) person for it. Now if we can just get better clickspots...and/or like Ray mentioned earlier...use AirManager and the "Knobster" for this....yes hardware additions I know, but have been eyeballing it for a while...and getting close to a buy (hehe....as always when it comes to increasing my simming enjoyment). Although given a choice in the real world I'd pick something else (want to be able to carry way more than it's useful load), this little guy is perfect for medium hops where you want to dash from one place to the next and not necessarily wanting to admire the scenery eclipsing below you at 170+ knots. If we could get a high-wing with similar performance, I could also look down occasionally at a POI and see it instead of a wing. 🙂 Although she's a bit goofy-looking in regards to what we deem a "High wing" to look like, the Extra 400 in the sim would be my goto SEL if we ever got a good one. 😉 She's a speedster, and an turbine...and I ain't payin' for gas (err....JP) nor turbine inspections for her...so I'm all in! Struggled until I accidently did the click as I was bouncing around and struggling with the mouse pointer. We badly need larger more visible click spots and mouse cursors. It may be due to screen res in use. If so they need to auto-adjust to maintain relative size. I am at 1440 and having no joy, especially with tuning and selecting avionics. Tired of inadvertently zooming instead. I would also love to see the ability to tune knobs with the left and right mouse buttons, like with RXP gauges. Humm. Perhaps working with RXP is the solution.... You don't have to do it that way, but you can. Anytime you click the small center knob it will tell you what is dialed in. Click it again and it will switch to the "other" feature. It alternates. You can also press the top rectangular push button to select VS. Maybe one of the Github Mod Squads will adopt our Mooney and fix stuff like this. I have a long list of things that I wish were easier. Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .

September 24, 20205 yr I forgot to mention the Carenado version of the ALT SEL has a Left and Right spin on the fpm for the small knob. That might be what you a selecting to go down when you want to go up. The curved arrows are either clockwise or couter-clockwise and the text tells you what action they will initiate. When Pigs Fly . Yes, but so small that I have to zoom in to determine which, taking my view to 100% inside. It is why I mentioned the need for larger selection spots and larger mouse cursors/pointers. I have finished code for the next release of the G1000 that reads the encrypted model.xml of the premium planes (and the 182T!) within the sim itself to adapt an internal parameter based on its contents. And once you can read a file, you have all the data necessary to change it and load a different copy into the VFS. These planes will still be moddable, it will just take a little more work.

September 24, 20205 yr I'm with you there Ron. However in his defence he did say he's a professional nerd.

Those fsarchives have all the same files as you would find in an unencrypted plane, they're just rolled up in a little encrypted ball. The sim loads them into its virtual filesystem when it runs as plain text just like any other, which means once you have such a plane loaded you can write code that reads all the contents just fine. I'm doing that with the G1000 to figure out what knob is used for avionics brightness, which means the software brightness control added in the mod will be automatically compatible with every plane that has a hardware knob to control brightness, no manual changes needed, in the next version. (You currently have to add a line to panel.xml for some planes to make it work, which is both annoying, and won't work with the premium/commercial planes.) You can't _write_ to disk from within a javascript instrument, but you can read whatever you want. The rest is just legwork. Edited September 24, 20205 yr by kaosfere
