RTSS problem with v5

Featured Replies

I have used MSI afterburner and RTSS for p3dv4.5 successfully for frame rate limiting (x/2) and OSD monitoring. But now with v5 it seems not to work anymore. Neither does it limit fps nor can I see it monitoring. I'd like to add that with MSFS the MSI AB / RTSS combination works just fine. Is there a special trick to get it to work with p3Dv5?

You'll probably just need to wait until the utilities are updated to play nice with DX12.  P3Dv4.x and MSFS are both DX11 programs.

Ouch, you're right. Completely forgot about DX12 being used by P3Dv5. Thanks.

RTSS works fine for me on V5. Using it to limit FPS by scanline sync/x2

How many displays do you have connected?

Same here... worked in P3DV4.5, also in V5, and now in MSFS.

No trick to it.  Just set the profile for Prepar3D.exe.

Note, it is "scanline sync x/2" with a non-zero value.

What happened with using the latest nvidia driver as of yesterday and the internal vsync in P3d v5 hf2.

its a slide show for me.

now I have vsync triple buffer and fps limit set to 30.5. Via inspector.

fps unlimited vsync triple buffer off in sim.

now it’s butter smooth.

I had exactly the same settings all the time but now even MSFS does not work anymore with RTSS ... I'm going to uninstall MSI AB / RTSS and reinstall it again.

All you need is RTSS!

You might need to add a line in the cfg to define which display you want to sync, if running multiple

Be sure you set the .exe value, and not global.

Works fine for me in V5.

I've found the reason why it didn't work anymore. It was a DDU/Graphic Driver update that I've made some time ago. After uninstall and reinstall of RTSS/MSIAB everything works fine again for both P3Dv5 and MSFS. Thanks for comments.

Sorry, Bert. That doesn't quite fit the music.

On my system, v5hf2 works super smooth, thanks to Bert’s RTSS tip a while ago. It was such a game changer re. smoothness! Again, on my system it runs better than any other sim and pc I ever owned in the last 22 years.

Cheers,

Pete
