I subscribe to facts, evidence, data, data sources, testing methodology, scientific methodology, logic, reality, not "belief" ... maybe that doesn't get much respect these days but it's how I proceed and I try not to be rude about it.

Like I said, I find it interesting how the tolerance has changed and how people keep wanting to put other people into a category so as to dismiss, does that really help get want I think all of us want out of a simulator?

I would love more than anything to see MS stop with all this PR and focus all their energy on the facts, issues, and user requests.

Cheers, Rob.

I agree with you Rob on everything you've said here. To make things known is not actually to have a "chip" on one's shoulders, but to be honest about what you see and stick to it, without any prior prejudice, belief or blind adherence to what others are saying. Every product needs some PR but when it becomes a substitute for poor checking of work and poor quality control, alarm bells should ring.

I think things are a little more open here now. In the early days after release any criticism or pointing out of factual observations were considered by some as heresy, so gripped by the PR were they. I also think there is some neophilia going on, where anything that's new must be wonderful and anything even slightly older is somehow to be dismissed.

Like you, I've been flight simming for 35 years also, and developing for 25 of them. I really have no inbuilt preference for one sim over another. I hope they all have excellent qualities as well as recognising the flaws. These patches have improved some things and scuppered others, to the point where an intended release of a mod has been delayed as each patch means almost starting from scratch on some important features in the mod.

I wish Asobo would release hot fixes for obvious items and take a back seat on others until they are thoroughly tested IN HOUSE by the department that should be checking its own work before signing it off.

With FSX every default plane was flyable without issues...

With MSFS not everything worked at start because of the rush of release, but that is ok.

After that with each patch more is broken than fixed. And Asobo/MS, instead of fixing the most important issues they fix several and concentrate on world scenery packages ...

And now they have taken LOD away to improve performance..

If they put less energy in the hype and put more energy on fixing serious issues then a lot of users would be very happy.

"Hence, the agreed reason that I am putting MSFS (as it exists today) on the back burner to simmer, and hope that six months, to one year later...it will be at that time....coded, as it should have been, released on August 18th/2020.  Until then...am now going to look forward to what L.M's P3D v5.1 will have up its sleeve.  I get great FPS and non-stutter performance as of this hour with it....so am only with anticipation, looking for the announcement and release of v5.x   All is good now.  MSFS to 'mature' over the next year....and P3D v5.x or XP12...coming over the same time frame!"

Where are the multiple threads and 100s of comments about these CTDs?

Come on. You really have such low expectations of MSFS.

The SDK is so simple that no complex addon aircraft can work with it. Default jetliners have stutters in the outside view.

You simply cannot have all eyecandy and also have complex aircraft and the smoothest performance...

Just be realistic...

Agreed about the SDK. 100% but I don't have stutters at all with the outside view. I am running above 60fps and it's smooth as it can be. Maybe your pc is not up to par ?

Give it time people.  MS/Asobo have a massive effort they are in the middle of, and compared to LM and how long it took them to do anything meaningful that wasn't already in FSX, it's just preposterous to have the sorts of expectations I'm reading here.  Presumably no one here is in the inner circle of planning but it is clear to me what has already been accomplished is nothing short of astounding.  I have to assume they are working in areas they need to to meet their mission which presumably is readying for XB release.  I don't see a lot of clues even in the current implementation they are leaving the PC arena at all.   They're likely grappling w/ massive server demands and presumably need to make sure that doesn't become overwhelmed until they have clear idea of just how much demand is there.  They have created a whole new & complex world, different than anything before it, and coming out on two different platforms.    All of these changes, the aledged drop in LOD, are growing pains as they are looking not just at your personal experience and how to make you real happy, but how to pay the rent going forward and everything in between.  Give it some time and support this group they've got far more on their plates than making addicted simmers happy immediately.  Though I must say, MSFS has largely been flawless for me so far, at 40h and 80Gb.

Show me one vid where the outside view is smooth when using the default 320, 747 or 787.

The GC can be changed now as with 30 hertz or more the stuttering becomes very noticeable.

And if this already happens with default jetliners what do you expect with complex addons jetliners.... ?

Regarding my main pc : 7940X ( 14 core ) at 4.8 GHz / 32 Gb 3600 / 2080 Ti / 2 Tb zM2 / LCS ..  I suspect that it is good enough ...

Absolutely can. I wanted to do a recording anyway. So give me the end of the day and I will do i t with the famous 787 at KSEA.

Not that I haven't been guilty of the same, but there's kinda no point to saying this. This is what always happens now that there's internet communication about games. When Kerbal Space Program was in *very* early alpha that people had paid all of $7 to play, the forums looked very similar to what we're seeing here.

Gamers are never happy. Never. Asobo could ship us all our own holodecks and give us a nearly perfect VR experience and someone would complain that the safety interlocks were unrealistic and should be patched out.

Huh? I just flew the 320 off the coast of Japan and it was smooth as silk on Ultra 4K.

He PC is up for it, his set up is not for it, he simply does not own MSFS. So best to just enjoy giving MSFS a good kicking when ever he can. As he has just showed over the last pagers.

It took 7 years for FSL to bring the there A320 to any sim, how long as MSFS been out. Very selective memory's people have. Let alone that close to 2 years for PMDG to bring any sim the NG. But we don't have them so lets get kicking.

Good idea Gerard--think about the massive world MS/A is deploying, and then go back and look at the pathetic rate of progress at $200 a pop coming out of LM that STARTED w/ a completely done simulator in 2009.  The ATC in FSX is identical to 2020 version of P3D.  The pathetic flight planner w/ it's circa 2006 crude map, is still there in 2020.

Tell us the state of the SDK in other sims? Or do those other sims rely on risky injections to work properly?
