Bonanza Turbo Mod RELEASED

Featured Replies

I find it odd being Turbocharged, MP never exceeds 29.7 MP.

I'm assuming this is in competition with the "other G36 mod"?

What are you talking about?!  This has no competition 🙂

Are there two Bonanza's?  Maybe thats why I'm getting mixed up...

Edit: nope just checked only one - so this project must conflict with the link above?

It appears that is a NA like the default. This one is a turbo normalized variant with requisite better performance.

It's Turbo Normalized, not Turbo Charged.  So it runs at sea level MP all the way up to high altitude.

Reading about this setup it does appear to be the best of all worlds for the Bonanza, very well engineered.

Edit:  The two mods definitely don't work at the same time right now.  The G36 Improved mod does improve the Naturally Aspirated G36 a lot....but Robert's work here is a step above that IMHO in terms of the improvements to the flight model and the aircraft specs.

Why such a hurry to get to Memphis?  Granted they have great BBQ, but on that note as a Pig I would try to avoid that place 😁

I did a flyby.  Thanks for the concern for my hocks.

Cripes!. But you would normally not cruise with 2700 rpm. You'd be using a lot of fuel. 2500 rpm should give you around 212 knots with a huge drop in fuel flow.

It was a speed run, I have a free gas credit card for the sim.

That's the way the actual turbo modification (normalised) is set in the real world I believe. The "normalised" bit means you get normal MAP up to critical altitude which in this case is 18,000 feet.

I can't believe it was that simple. Thank you!

Rob,

I flew around Jamaica this afternoon while listening to some Reggae. I watched the CB clouds develop under me and it was magical.

Fantastic mod.

Thank you!

BTW: For those who are new to Rob Young's work, you are in for a treat.

My good sir, thats a beautiful gift you gave us, went testing this baby from Valence (france) to a remote airstrip 6000ft up into the Alps, north of Nice, that was amazing, the climb to 11000ft was lightning quick, and once put against the pdf you made, the perf checked out perfectly, 195TAS spot on with 29.6, 2500rpm and 17gal/hr.

The flare, on the inclined strip, was magical, so smooth.

I tried a couple of sensitivity settings. No joy.

I couldn't find it, I thought it was an MSFS Tip post on Avsim - there is a 2 step procedure to reduce the control sensitivity & dampen down aircraft control response - (1) You set the Joystick sensitivities for R/E/A to zero, & null points to 5%,

(2) Pick 1 aircraft as a test bed  & edit its Aircraft Flight_Model.cfg file.

If you don't find the procedure post it I will PM you the full process instructions  tomorrow.

Let me know.

Rob,

Thank you for this wonderful contribution to the community. You have turned an anemic plow horse into a thoroughbred!

I am enroute from KSWF to KCVG at 16,000 feet, 190 knots true, and the aircraft is performing beautifully.

Only one minor issue. It appears that the fuel quantity gauges on the MFD are not working. I filled the tanks prior to departure and both were indicating full. After 45 minutes of flight I noticed they both still show full. When I went to the drop down loading menu, it definitely shows that I am consuming fuel. I started on the left tank, which is now down to 75 percent, so I switched to the right tank, and it now shows fuel being used, but both gauges still show full.

I don’t know if this problem also existed in the default aircraft. The only other mods I have active at the moment are the Navigraph beta nav data and Jean-Luc’s fix for the skyscraper buildings.
