October 13, 20205 yr I had lightning and thunder, too, during a flight in the Melboune area yesterday. Live weather was pretty clear so this certainly was inappropriate. Switched to fly down on the Mexican coast... lightning... everywhere lightning lol. Also, I can't believe that thunder is that loud inside a jet... actually, I know it is not.

Some people are sensitive to strobing/flashing lights and loud sounds. There should be an option to disable the thunder and lightning as an Accessibility option.
