Dozens of people with that issue. All cured by limiting wifi internet connection bandwidth.

I did it this way (no more looping trying to download the same file):

browse to 192.168.0.1 (put this in the URL of any webrowser, on a few routers it could be 192.168.0.0 instead)

for both  login and password: admin

Set your wifi limit to about 10 Mhz per second , i.e. 10240 KbpsBxKc0iF.jpg

There should  be no more loops in the update downloads (try a lower limit if there is).

You have to check the box Enable Bandwidth Control

After you get the update, uncheck the box so that you have full wifi speed again on the internet.

My problem is a bit different, everytime my connection gets really slow or stop for a couple of seconds, the same files restart downloading from the beginning, also I only download 55% of the file overnight, It won't get over 0.01mb/s, I had to stop and start again.

My internet connection is not great at all, but I never had any issue, with steam. Here it's been 36 hours on a single file and it's still not finished. it's doing 60% - 0% - 55% - 0% - 32% - 0%, etc...

Since I am on a metered connection, that infuriates me.

Pics obvioulsy can't show the wave motion...but take it from a bonafide' sailor who spent a LOT of years staring at them off the back of a destroyer, amphib assault  ship, etc ...these things LOOK REAL!!

Thank you for your service.  I myself preferred travelling underneath the ocean.  Didn't have to use wet napkins to keep my tray on the table that way.  (lol).

I got the update through the store as normal, but when launching the game there's no update.  Is that normal?

Yes.  The update through the store was about 900 Meg and no update within the game....

Those shots look absolutely awesome! Like a cinematic ending scene of a high budget movie.

Thanks....those are just grabs from the sim, with post-processing ONLY to put the detail back in you lose when you compress the heck outta them with a aggressive jpg optimizer algorithm.

THIS is a cinematic shot with a bit of post processing to correct the lighting and hues, and of course the very nice angle and camera positioning to make it pop a bit. 😉

This sim simply blows me away with its graphics...and there simply no comparison with previous sims...None.

FYI,

When you quote a post with pics in it....please delete the pics from your post as it increases the length of the thread unecessarily...makes the mods "grumpy". hehe.  (rightly so)  You can hit the Edit button in your post and fix it if you do it within a certain time (an hour maybe?  dunno)

Stand on those brakes son......

Yep. I think on one of those videos you can hear the stall warning going off just as they touch down!  😮

Or maybe that's the new copilot screaming!  🙂

Thank you for your service as well. 😉

Great pics!  Yeah kinda' looks orange in that shot.  Need to pull the Mooney out and see if she's flying ok now?  Was she patched do you know? (She was having some problems in the patch-that-shall-not-be-spoken-here)

(man the threads on avsim moves fast on the MSFS subsection..)

I foresee a point where the number of postings in MSFS subforums (not necessarily all positive) outweigh those on all other sims over the years together.

Kind regards, Michael

@Steve Dra Great screenshots, and thanks for reminding us how amazing this sim is despite the issues we sometimes have with it!

If a boomer driver lets himself get caught, he’s not a very good boomer driver.
