Just Flight Piper Arrow III Preview

Featured Replies

MSFS 2020 standard edition costs around 60 dollars and you get 20 aircrafts and 30 airports included in the package.

50 dollars for just one aircraft ? I will save my money and enjoy another game or games with it.

Just an opinion, everyone is free to do whatever they want with their money.

Am I taking schadenfreude delight at the newcomers/Trolls who whined about the  23$ 737 at these prices, especially for the GA Piper? Tsk Tsk. 🙂

Is Just Flight one of those devs, since they seem to charge the same price for their XP and P3D products ?

Nope. Just Flight wasn't one of them. Just flight is in fact one of my favourite developers as most people know. It was a more general comment; I think most people know which developers it does apply to.

Fair enough, though that would seem to mean that isn't really a factor for the pricing of this specific product them ?

$44 for the Arrow. A 25% discount doesn't sway me to buy.

$50 for the CRJ. No discount for P3D users. No Thanks!

I've brought up pricing before so I'm not going to beat the dead horse. For those who can afford to buy these birds on release, have fun!

$44 for the Piper while the CRJ a far more complex aircraft for $50 but then the C182 with the default G1000 was like $35 from Coronado too.

I have not even flown all the GA that came with MSFS. I'll probably skip the Arrow.. But then it has good analog gauges and that's tempting me. I'll probably get the CRJ for $50 at least for the effort Aerosoft has put in.

Man! the 737 is a steal for sure. 🙂

At the end of the day, people will charge what they will and customers will either pay it or not, as is their wont, but I suspect the large take up of MSFS and the many new flight sim adopters will help to make prices a bit more equitable. None of this stuff is compulsory.

Not sure I would pay $44 for just the normal Arrows but the Arrow  + Turbo Arrow for a total of $58 is tempting for me.

The thing is, MSFS comes with so many aircrafts where its quite sufficient for 75% of the simmers.. especially for the noobs. There is no need/compulsion for the noobs to buy any of these 3rd party addons when there are so many aircrafts within MSFS,

When I started serious simming, it was in FS9. I did not purchase any addons for a year or two. If I remember, my first addon I bought was the Piper from Dream fleet for like $15? Loved it.. Then I got their C310. Loved the sound of the engine and the 2d VC of a real aircraft. Then I got the CS727 which I love even today. I flew the 727 like I would a GA. Dialed in the ILS and hand flew it all the way. The old AA livery with its smoky, oily engine, you can smell the kerosene on it. I also loved the flight model of this plane, I am not an airliner pilot, but I felt the CS727 had a realistic fight dynamics, especially its stall behavior. When you don't watch its speed, the stall is insidious It doesn't dip its wing like a 172 Stalls, It goes down like a flat spin stall, and you cannot recover easily by pushing down the yoke. I loved it. If CS simply ports this aircraft and does not add anything to it but just make it work in MSFS, I'll pay $60 for it.

Then I got the PMDG 747. That did me in. Went deep down the rabbit hole. LOL 🙂

I did not want to turn this into a price thread, but it's important to some of us that these add-ons are priced fairly. I bought the P3D versions (plural) and paid full price. Later they were offered at 50% off. Then I bought the X-Plane 11 version. Guess what happened? It also went on sale. Both sims are no longer even on my SSD so I'll consider those purchases as money under the drain.  I actually spend more time on Realair airplanes. The JF TB20 was riddled with bugs that were never fixed, even though they did try, so I still have a negative anchor when I think of it. Sorry guys.

JF will never be as good as Realair, and the prices for the Realair fleet were much less. Price vs Value is still my primary consideration.

MSFS

It may be an artifact of being in the UK but the GBP price of £29.99 for the Arrow is not much different from the Carenados on the Marketplace.

well yes, shame Realair went away, but then no one forces you to buy any addons.

i have yet to buy one addon plane, no hurry  i wait until the sim is a bit more evolved.

for 50 i expect A2A quality.........prob wont happen.

So far in the 6 months I have had this sim I have bought:

  • Jabiru -   FM is not 100% on edge of envelope,  but so long as you stick to sane normal flight conditions is fine. Fly these in real life so absolutely worth it for me for sure
  • Mooney, my go to aircraft for longer flights with the gn530 freeware mod - definitely earnt it's keep
  • Bleriot XI - a real novelty I have flown a lot, no regrets at all
  • YMF-5 - buggy as heck when it came out and still is a bit that way but this radial engine biplane outrageous fun, well worth it
  • Aerolite 103 - also very buggy and seemingly ignored by the devs but the visual model and high visibility makes up for it

Of those the Mooney is similar to the Bonanza and the Jabiru is a cross between a few of the default lights however they are different enough to be worth it.

There is nothing in the default planes remotely like the Bleriot, 103 or YMF-5 .

So 5 planes in 6  months at an average of around $25 each which works out at maybe $6 a week. Fine by me.

Next, I intend to pick up the G91 the P149 and the two Arrows. I might get the Kodiak in a month or two when that comes out.   I doubt I will regret any of those purchases either.

If Real air puts out their aircrafts, even a single one with their pricing, all these guys would have to run for cover! 🙂

Good choice!  I have the G91 and the Piaggio and I love them and don't regret spending the money.  Still waiting for a little Piaggio update though - Maybe they were waiting for the hotfix.  While the G91 is well fixed up in the main, but maybe with the promise of a few freebie enhancements thrown in later.

As you say, the Arrows will be fair value as a pack of two with the discount applied.

As you say

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

If I may,and feel free to told me to mind my own business,

You have stated that you already have more than 100 payware addons for MSFS. It is an rather important number especially considering MSFS is out since only 7 months and in all fairness I have not seen any "must buy" add ons so far on this plateform. Actually the 2 add ons that in my opinion are currently worthwhile are actually freeware: the CJ4 and A320 mod.

Anyway, buying 100 addons means you have a few spare dollars for our common hobbys which is good.

The Aerosoft CRJ and Piper Arrow are actually the first aircraft payware addons that looks solid (I'm not saying perfect but a solid step better than the default aircraft). They are not super expensive either, less than 50€ seems reasonable if they are as good as advertised.

I'm not too sure I understand your point in not buying these add ons that look more promising than what has been released so far for a 5/10/15€ bill on top of what you would have expected when you already buy 100 payware.

Unless you are not interested in these aircraft of course, no obligation to buy all payware that goes out.
