What do you miss most in FSX from past versions?

Featured Replies

I believe the one thing I miss most that is no longer available is FSNAV. I confess I have been spoiled rotten. I sure hope those who developed this fine addon will change their mind about FSX, or somebody else comes up with an equal. Sure is a hassle to me to quickly find a waypoint, airport, frequency or originate/modify a flight plan.I install a number of addon's to my panels for virtually all aircraft. I had to remember that fsuipc is required by many of them. (i.e. RunwayInfo, RKG Speed, RKG FuelStat, Third party toggles etc. Among these adders, I miss a good timer. In all of my panels for FS9 I installed the DFRG_Timer. Unfortunately it goes back to the FS98 days and is not accpetable for FSX. If anybody knows a good generic replacement for this item, I would appreciate a heads up on it.I am not addicted to it quite as much as some others have mentioned, but Active Camera is a loss. What do you miss?Happy Flying:RTH

HiFPS.................;)Pete

The only things I miss are the Fly Tampa airports & Squawk box. I know the guys over at FT are working hard to find a solution to the flat earth issues, and SB4 is now in beta testing.Perhaps you should look to the future, and to the wonderful new features this sim will bring. I certainly will *not* miss the low resolution textures of FS9 and its sparse autogen.

>I believe the one thing I miss most that is no longer>available is FSNAV.I'm with you. Though I must say that I wouldn't give FSNav a second look if FS just started to feature a map which can be used without pausing the game. (No, not like the GPS - like the normal map, just as a cockpit window.) I know, FSNav is more sophisticated, but for me that would be all I ask for... why they haven't implemented this so far is beyond me.Regards,http://www.bremmekamp.com/img/misc/avsim.jpg

The thing I miss the most in FSX is the Mohawk River. In fairness though, it wasn't in FS9 either until I installed Ultimate Terrain.Jim

>I miss the autosave where when you quit FS and started back>up where you left off..... :-(I miss that too! I used the "Previous flight" feature all the time.I also miss the ability to change aircraft in a multiplayer session without having to 'end flight' and go back to the briefing room to do it.

I miss the coastlines around Vancouver Island. FS9 wasn't the best but FSX is junk. Seems the only place they have good coastlines is in the heavily populated places.

>I miss the coastlines around Vancouver Island. FS9 wasn't>the best but FSX is junk. Seems the only place they have>good coastlines is in the heavily populated places. While you might have lost scenery in FSX, I gained quite a bit! :7 Got back some lakes I've been missing for years, and better defined mountain ranges, especially with FSGenesis which I've used with both sims. While FSX may have turned junk to you, It's now making FS9 look crude in comparison to me! Sorry about that... :-hah L.Adamson
