I also would have liked to hear about the tears in the mountains. But all in all it was very interesting. January 27, 20215 yr There was also talking of some major performance improvements, related to how the sim is being optimized for Xbox and DX12 but these improvements will greatly benefit the PC version too. 2x improvement on system memory which now is often the cause of stutters. Ray tracing will be implemented too, not immediately coming with DX12 but at a later stage. Seb also mentioned a 4x improvement for trees that will allow to increase their density a lot. January 27, 20215 yr Did they mention anything about VR improvements? I saw the first 20mins but then had to switch off, barely 800 viewers at that point would've thought these Q&As would generate more when Live. They showed an entire new feedback snapshot slide dedicated to VR. It was a bit rough, but there are priorities. Adding controller support was on there. They also mentioned that as part of the console/DX12 work they have reduced memory use and GPU memory use significantly. Since a lot of work the sim does is moving around massive amounts of data, reducing the amount of data to start with will also increase performance. None of them is a typical suit wearing business man. They're all chilled. But I especially like Sebastian. You can definitely see the difference between the MS side and the devs over at ASOBO. They are typical engineers / developers, more quiet and humble - but still enthusiastic when they can talk about their specific topic. 😄 Edited January 27, 20215 yr by tweekz Happy with MSFS 🙂 home simming evolved
