In order to minimize shadows, they setup ideal flying times to only a certain window in mid-day. Also, they try to avoid cloudy days as that would mean large differences in color and white-balance of the ortho photos taken, which would otherwise require lots of post processing.
January 28, 20215 yr My personal main points from yesterday: Problems with inertia are actually plane-specific. So that's a good thing, that the core simulation is not the cause of those problems. I was excited, when Sebastian explained how they plan on improving it, by receiving video footage that compares pilot inputs to plane reactions. The weather system technically already allows for realistic thermal simulation and they plan to also consider things like dark surfaces. Scenery gateway system is planned. Aerosofts CRJ is almost done. They still need to tweak fuel flow. Edited January 28, 20215 yr by tweekz Happy with MSFS 🙂 home simming evolved
January 28, 20215 yr Can someone please clarify this, if I understood it correctly, the replay tool is going to be a simple one with no timeline .. etc (I think their internal tool is advanced), however Seb mentioned that you'd click record and replay later, so it won't be like FSX or X-Plane, isn't? Dark surfaces, like woods or some fields absorb more thermal radiation by the sun, heat the air above and therefore produce more uplift (due to warm air rising). That's why glider pilots often pay attention to dark surfaces. MSFS can potentially scan such areas and therefore provide a realistic experience in that regard. Would be especially great when gliders are introduced into the sim. Edited January 28, 20215 yr by tweekz Happy with MSFS 🙂 home simming evolved

Jörg talked about the France Benelux update and the new DEM that will include as well as the guys at Bing working at a new method to render the mountains. And as much as I want to see Germany done, I'd make room for other regions of the earth than Europe and Northern America getting some love too. I would be delighted to see some stuff done for Africa.

UK update will be out next week, no exact date yet, but the data problem they mentioned in the last dev update that delayed it has been solved. Contrails coming in February with the sim update. Water marks finally getting resolved for most areas of the world is what I'm most excited about with the UK update (after just watching the whole Asobo video). The Caribbean is going to look amazing. My browser gave me a message that my original didn't send so I posted it again. I should have went back and checked a few pages back. Right after I posted the original message I closed out my browser to go into FS and test something I'm working on. Opened the browser back up and got the message. I'll edit if I still can. Your right I edited my message with an extra line after watching the Asobo video today.
