February 2, 20215 yr A long time ago I read that Majestic might consider porting their version to MSFS but afaik they aren't working on it yet. Does anyone know about another developer that might be working on a Dash 8-Q400? Even if it won't be study level (right away) I might be willing to get it. I even enjoyed the Q400 in AFS2 so... 😉 I don't know what it is but I absolutely love that plane. I am considering to get the CRJ instead (whenever it gets released) to keep me entertained but well... I'd rather have a Q400 anyway...
February 2, 20215 yr I've read on Q400 forms that Majestic is working with Asobo to get the SDK into a shape that Majestic can use. So, there is that. Majestic has spoiled Q400 users, I see no usable answer in the meantime. February 2, 20215 yr You can probably port the Virtualcol one into MSFS and I daresay they will get around to making theirs MSFS compatible at some point. I know they are developing a Dash 7. Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

Not sure how accurate of a statement that is. Like many other development teams, we patiently await Asobo to make an SDK that will allow us to begin looking into what is necessary to bring the Q400 to the said platform KROSWYND a.k.a KILO_WHISKEYMajestic Software Development/Support Sys 1: AMD 7950X3D, NOCTUA D15S, Gigabyte Elite B650, MSI 4090, 64Gb Ram, Corsair 850 Power Supply, 2x2TB M.2 Samsung 980s, 1x4TB WDD M.2, 6xNoctua 120mm case fans, LG C2 55" OLED running at 120Hz for the monitor, Win11. February 5, 20215 yr Meantime you may just have to be content watching Pilot Emilie though most of her cockpit clips show trim wheels so she is probably in something ancient like a Q100 😄

It is interesting how some devs are able to make it work with the current SDK, and others seem to struggle. For example, the working title guys have done wonders with the FMC in the CJ4, custom autopilot, custom flight planning... yet I have read elsewhere that devs can't create a working FMC... who knows. I did enjoy the Majestic Q back in FSX. Was by far the most realistic turboprop.

My impression is some of the smaller devs seem to be often talented 3D graphics and texture guys that in the past have relied on the sim itself for the heavy lifting FM-wise and used default cockpit gauges or other peoples addon gauges for the cockpit mechanics with maybe the odd bit of help from a consultant to tweak the FM. I suspect they are the ones that struggle as MSFS at this early stage seems to require a fairly good knowledge of how the FM works and how to tweak it, there is more to it than doing a great 3D model and textures and getting a helping hand at the end tweaking the FM. February 5, 20215 yr Majestic had more going on "outside the sim" than most addon aircraft, especially with JSBSim physics, so they will require more SDK functionality to bring their product to MFS. They will probably have to recode more stuff too. Asobo are planning to push revised turboprop modelling in sim update 4 at the end of April, perhaps things will be a little clearer as regards all turboprop developments after that Edited February 5, 20215 yr by ckyliu ckyliu, proud supporter of ViaIntercity.com. i5 12400F, 32GB, RTX4070, more in "About me" on my profile.

Kind of ironic that precisely because Majestic worked "outside of the box" so creatively and aggressively to overcome FSX limitations, they're now kind of tethered to those existing solutions. That's understandable, but also kind of a shame...It's developers who have exactly that "just make it work, whatever you have to do" attitude that Majestic epitomizes who are already working on aircraft in MSFS with some success.

Very True. But we already have a road map that is in play for other obligations, and we are not going. To drop them and start working on something that is going to further delay the extensive work already devoted to our our projects and clients is not good for business, nor is FS 2020 ready as yet in allowing us to what is necessary. The "just make it work, whatever you have to do" attitude is still there and hopefully we can make our project just as good or even better. With the FS2020 project being a 10 year project, and our lives are spared to enjoy that time limit, we look forward to good times ahead. When the time arises for us to make it work we will put the best foot forward in doing so, however "long" it takes. The aircraft models are not a simple port over as these techniques I am sure have changed and will require so additional work, if the project is to be done properly. Truly exciting times ahead especially seeing the progress that freeware developers in making the default aircraft more enjoyable and functional. Where does this '10 year project' come from if you will? I've not heard this but kind of assumed it because of the scope MSFS already that this might be the case. Been stated a few times by lead developers during streams, another indicator is they are being granted the ability to increase the development team working on FS2020 which I assume is through increased funding from MS or revenue being raised by the sim.
