The answer is we don’t know however, I would be less surprised about a further delay tomorrow than I was on the 11th given the new CTD issue.

Actually, I can't see why this should stop the update.  It seems to me they are different issues. The recent Bing data problem (clashing CGL files), even if it isn't solved, shouldn't stop the update, as we can still fly with a few tweaks.

Unless they want to use it as another excuse / reason of course.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

What new CTD issue?

I honestly hope not until they've rectified the CTD issues since Friday, I'd much rather an update that didn't break more than it added. Trouble is Asobo have shot themselves in the foot saying the update is "locked in" for release tomorrow, schoolboy error that as if they need to delay it again they may release regardless.... and that worries me!

I think they possibly prepatched the servers with new stuff because we didn`t have this issues before but this is not 100% safe, just an option for this CTD`s what wasen`t before.

We can be absolutely certain that World Update 3 will land tomorrow because ASOBO have told us it's 'Baked In'.

What it is going to break is anyone's guess, but I am really looking forward to it considering 90% of my flying is currently in the UK.

I think a program update is due soon as well, though not sure whether that will be incorporated into the UK and Ireland (Yes - Don't forget that it covers Ireland as well) update.

I think the new CTD issue is related to changes made to the BING servers in preparation for the World Update 3. If that's the case, I would expect the WU3 will be delayed until the CTD issue is resolved. In general, it's not good to be accumulating problems and it seems it's the case now.

If it were this simple, you'd think in the last 3 days where the issue has been observed, they would have made a statement to that effect.

AMD 3950X | 64GB RAM | AMD 5700XT | CH Fighterstick / Pro Throttle / Pro Pedals

I can imagine there's quite some stress at MS/ASOBO/BING at the moment:
I have read speculations from someone associated with a 3pdeveloper that with the current state on the BING side of things it might be necessary to update each and every affected product  - with all the consequences for timeframe and effort. To me that sounds logical, because he also stated that the parameters of the sai*.cgl files (those causing the CTD's) are automatically determined according to BING standards while building the scenery packages and it might therefore need a new version of the packagebuilder for compatibility.

So the dilemma for the devs might be either to revert something on the BING side and thus probably breaking dependencies with the already twice postponed world update or inducing 3rdparties - and users - to update their existing products.

I reckon they try to fix the BING issues, and that may prove impossible within the given timeframe. If so, they'll probably postpone the world update again, revert the Bing/Windows assets and go from there!

None of my addons have cgl files but if any did I simply would disable them if possible, and if not just not fly there. Is there some problem with this temporary workaround that I'm not aware of? Anyway, whenever WU3 is released, tomorrow or in coming weeks, I hope it's as nice as Japan turned out to be.
