I thought this announcement deserves its own thread, separate of the CRJ installation thread.  If the mods disagree, please delete this thread or merge it with the installation thread.  Anyways, Aerosoft has announced it will release the CRJ on March 16th:

Awesome! Enough time to do some last minute testing and polishing. Hopefully by then Self Loading Cargo 1.6 will be released. Great news for tubeliner pilots looking for something new. 👍

I'm very much hoping that it's better than the P3D iteration.

We will storm Aerosoft HQ at the slightest triggering, and that includes not getting claustrophobic in the cockpit in VR!

Never seen so much excitement and drama in the AS forums just for announcing a release date that now ends up being 2 weeks away. By all the mayhem you wouldve thought it was being released today. And then the forums crashed lol

Im liking the 'come fly with me' videos so far.  Think the fidelity is pretty darn good, even better than the P3D version.   Should be quite the anticipation runup towards the 16th. 

For my part, instead of biting my nails for two weeks, I am going to fly the A330 and the 737 and enjoy the sim and forget about the CRJ with the exception of any tutorials for it. I've never flown the CRJ the way its to be flown nor used its FMC. Been a Boeing person and only recently due to MSFS A210 figured out the Airbus to some extent. Since this is going to be the first study level airliner for MSFS, it would be worth spending/investing some time learning to fly the CRJ. 

Sorry to bring up the sordid topic of coin, but have they announced the retail price yet?

 

Edit - 42 Euro's which is probably going to be £40 plus VAT then on top of that for extra liveries.

I will follow with interest, but due to the age of my PC, the big jets don't do too well and I have lack of smoothness due to not being able to hold 30 fps.  I wonder how well the CRJ will do performance wise with all of its complexity.

I think maybe the JF P-28 will be the better purchase for me for something with a bit more depth.  I have spent so much money lately though that I will watch the reviews closely first.  I have been like a kid in a sweet shop since August!

There are no really benchmarc to go by in MSFS. At the moment anything better than Carenado is study level LOL
