Nothing wrong with my temps.

My DXGI errors come from changing one aircraft to another after initial load or if changing too many world settings in the menu.

Changing world settings do not cause errors on both of my pc’s.

Regarding ac : I never change them so cannot command on that.

This is the only way I get DXGI errors now, load an a/c from the scenario screen, stick to it, no problems 👍

Hi Brian,

The FMS trainer is a standalone app that is a FMS only.

The Prosim cockpit suite (both 737 and 320) features detailed modelled aircraft systems (all af systems) a sophisticated and realistic flightmodel characteristics and broad simulator hardware compatibility. And it has an extensive operator functionality.

I'll take a look soon when I get some extra time.  Thanks.

Doesn't make any difference. I have tried to change aircraft both during a scenario and after ending a scenario. Both cause my specific CTD.
If I change more than two world settings at a time, I'll also get a CTD.

I've done a complete reinstall, but that didn't fix it. I just use work arounds to bypass these issues 99% of the time, but it's frustrating as it's not the quickest way of doing things.
Just hope that v5.2 being the answer to these problems for me.

What exactly is a "DXGI" error?

I run all these things and got the DXGI crash early on in v5, but since I toned down the overclock on my 1080Ti, I haven't seen it a single time. My card is one of those gaming ones that is overclocked from the factory. I had no idea about this overclock until someone mentioned it in one of the forums.

Sure, if you’re stable, run them. I’m just suggesting that people shouldn’t write off the core sim when it’s their pot pouri of addons that are causing the problems. Once they’ve got a solid setup, they can add the higher-risk addons back in and see what happens.

I quickly moved to ortho flying almost exclusively.  The planes available are amazingly precise.  I never have crashes.  My flying is smooth as silk and I have now an extremely robust and loaded sim.

I fly ortho exclusively, I just do it in P3D v5. Unfortunately, the message neve got through to this community that you can make P3D ortho tiles just as easily as you can for XP (overlays are trickier, tiles is the same process).

The P3D v5 airliners are a lot better than XP, but they're expensive.

I never have crashes in P3D, and v5 with a good GPU is around about as smooth as XP11.

GA in XP11 has a better feel on average, but A2A make some great GA aircraft for P3D. XP11 is a worthy sim and I flew it all through 2019 in preference to P3D v4. Post v5 release, I really haven't flown X-Plane much at all.

Own a 1080ti, 2080ti and you'll soon find out.

Or the 30 or so pages on LMs forum.

Prosim is good (I own the 737 module), but it costs 1250 euros plus a yearly subscription. It serves no real purpose for general flight sim, bit it's a good solution if you're a cockpit builder.

I had the problem yesterday running P3D v5.1. Easily solved by following the advice pinned in a LM topic.

Enable Maximum Performance in NCP for the Power Management Mode.

Since doing that the  error hasn't returned and I've been hammering P3Dv5 installing scenery and aircraft.

P3D v5 really needs an 11Gb card or you could run out of VRAM depending on settings and resolution. Running at 4K for me means plenty is used. It peaked around 9.5Gb at Pilot's LEAL today but I had been switching locations so that may have had an impact.

Well yes but with a limit of around 3.8Gb it's not going to look especially pretty. P3Dv5 RAM usage peaked around 14.5Gb for me this afternoon running in 4K at Pilot's LEAL and fps were locked at 30.

L-M recommend the latest Nvidia drivers. I installed those yesterday.

I could get my 9 year old nephew to spam, cut and paste replies that LM do on their forums.

A. Delete shaders

B. Delete prepar3d.cfg

C. Update drivers

D. Remove tweaks

Etc etc.

They have been spamming the same replies for a decade.

The point still stands that since v5 there's been over 30 pages of dgxi errors. That's not a coincidence is it.

Yet we are suppose to believe v5 is the best thing since sliced bread.

I have a 1080 ti, and I have yet to encounter that error.

More on-topic: I can sympathize with the OP. I have also had very frustrating experiences with flight simming. But every time it paid off to take a few steps back: Uninstall the last tool, go lightly on the tweaks, deactivate the OC. In other words: Stop trying to wring out the last bit of performance or visual candy, and just enjoy the sim. The advantage of a stable sim by far outweighs the minor performance or visual gains you might or might not get.
