Aerosoft CRJ released

Featured Replies

Okay I am genuinely impressed with this plane, model is top notch definitely, sounds are great, the systems depth are great and performance actually surprising is good, even when the fps goes down, it doesn't stutter, it just stays smooth. Especially after reading the P3D version feedback that was underwhelming, noticably because of the performance, I wasn't expecting much out of it but really, matched my expectations, especially taking the price factor in consideration. It seems now Aerosoft is improving their standard for aircraft in MSFS.

Just finished second flight. Seems like I slowly start getting it. There are tutorials on aerosoft forum on how setup honeycomb bravo throttle. I wished I saw them earlier! But I figure everything out a hard way.

Overall impression: I like it. It does feel disappointing not to get terrain and WX radar. I would be happy to see default version without bell and whistles (lite tils, intensity and so on). Terrain radar in particular would be most useful! But of well. Also I can live with manual flight plan, yes it's a drag but not showstopper. I hope Asobo still cooperating with Aerosoft and will continue add stuff to SDK.

I must say hand flying CRJ is pretty pleasant. I did 1 ILS and visual approach and they felt pretty satisfying. Like I said before it's not bad for start! Most impressive is absolutely no effect on fps! That will make a lot of folks happy

My very first MSFS purchase through the MarketPlace and I am very happy at the moment. Had watched all of the Dudes video so just did a Ready for Taxi on the EFB, and got in the air without doing everything correctly. Only one of the reasons for me, and me only, was the different states you can use on the EFB. I am really enjoying it so far...

Happy CRJ flying everyone that bought it. I think most of us have a lot to learn about flying a CRJ, or at least I do.

So far, so good. Your mileage may vary. I also am not seeing a difference on fps, although I'm not a fps watcher normally, I was just curious with the CRJ, and all is good.

What will the panel mounted AP do?

Can you put in a target Altitude & VS & Heading, have it climb to the chosen altitude & level out, & hold the Heading?

The answer is yes to all.

Yeah they are already mentioned in the FAQ, all these things will eventually come when the SDK evolves.

Although I never use infight planner, I have been always since the beginning using Simbrief lol

Yes I have discovered FAQ after my first flight I did a bad job researching first! LOL

Never mind I had a double assignment! LOL My bad! NOT A BUG! it's me 🙂

Care to share which one? Because I have the same problem with the A320. Whenever I go into the options the flaps and speedbreak come down to full. It drives me crazy.

Anyone experiencing issues with the Thurstmaster Throttle Quadrant ?

It is unknown by the EFB, and not moving on the pedestal but seems to be working... But when I take off then it goes to idle. Very strange

Set a profile for a simple two engine aircraft in MSFS, assign the TO/GA to one of the red switches on the throttle, then calibrate it in the EFB. I recommend using the devices default FLX detend as the CLB detent on the CRJ. That gives you a much better range for your manual inputs.

And don't forget that the levers don't move when the engines are off. You have to switch them to the idle position first.

It may be double binding like in my case. I'm using honeywell bravo quadrant. I created empty profile and use video tutorial to manually setup everything from the start. It take some time but guarantee there will be no conflict with incorrect binding

Thank you

If you want to fly say Hanover to Edinburgh & overfly EGLC & Liverpool on the way there - Assuming you load those airports into the FMC, (Departure, Arrival & Waypoints), will it follow that track?

If you think you have a double binding for Esc just go into the key bindings for the keyboard, set the filter to all or assigned, and search by input and hit the Esc key.  It will show you all bindings that use the Esc key or Esc key and any modifiers like ALT, SHIFT, <insert any other key here>, etc.  You just need to look for anything bound to Esc only and see if you have a double binding somewhere.

I think this may be one of Aerosoft's best releases. I did a quick familiarization flight and she hand flew beautifully. Inside and out looks great and sounds great. I'm currently trying a 550nm flight out. It's been one of the smoothest flights so far, no issues, no stutters. Frames are pretty good all things considered, about in the ballpark of the FlyByWire A320.

So in summary, go buy it!

Is it done yet? When will it be released? Will it be freeware or payware? How much will it cost? Any updates on the progress? Will it work for Xbox? Can I be a beta tester? How's the performance in VR?

How well is the HGS/ HUD simulated? I have seen the horizon line way below the actual horizon in one of the available reviews. Thanks

cheers,

Only just bought the thing, and you know me, the first priority was to find a song for the review, not flying the thing lol. And I don't know what they're trying to infer with that registration, I hardly touched a drop. 🤣

Did AS figure out how to do a collimated HUD?
