Who’s awesome idea was that? I hope the China bots provide good feedback. disclaimer: I am not interested to participate but shake my head when I read this nonsense That would be my concern too. Of course I applaud anyone who has signed up for this if they have done so the best of intentions, but we all know that the vast majority of people who sign up for beta tests do it because they either want a freebie or quick preview, and not because they genuinely have a desire to rigorously test stuff. Like yourself, I would have thought they'd perhaps approach some users they knew were using it a lot and are active on forums with their own test results and stuff, and have offered some kind of reward incentive for doing so too. The fact that they haven't done this is not exactly indicative of a genuine desire for quality control and decent feedback. Hmmm, I wonder where we've heard about that approach before, in relation to this product? Perhaps they could get all the 'influencers' they sent a load of freebie hardware to, to test things for them using that hardware; or at least they could if that stuff hadn't been listed on ebay, approximately three seconds after those people had made a fluffy box-ticking youtube video about it. 🤣 Edited April 3, 20215 yr by Chock Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
April 3, 20215 yr To all of the accepted beta testers - well done folks! Do us proud! Also, I genuinely hope you get the Asobo version to test, you know, the one they use for the publicity videos. It has the nice water masks everywhere, the bridges without the dark shadows underneath, decent coastlines, lack of morphing mountains, great Level Of Detail distance, and super fluid frame rate - it must exist somewhere, right? When I get that version I will be truly happy. Am I expecting too much? Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. April 3, 20215 yr Here is an interesting angle to the upcoming testing. Some people, including myself off and on get CTDs.They are reportedly to be worse after the last hotfix. In fact this is number 3 I believe on Asobos list of things that need to be fixed ASAP. Now they release the latest update. What happens if say a percentage of these testers get CTDs lets say 5 %.? Does Asobo think these CTDs indicate something is wrong with the update that needs correction, or do they think that this is the normal CTD and doesn't signify anything is at all wrong with the update?

I thought for sure they would have at least a questionnaire to weed the useless out. They could also prioritize users who were providing useful feedback throughout the alpha/beta period. How funny would it be that the 300 people all had nvidia cards and the new update crippled amd cards. didnt test because........ smh the people that make these choices make more money than me. Yeah, they will be getting comments from the testers like, " When I tried to barrel roll the 747, it crashed into the ground, that must be a bug" " How come the grass strip near my home doesn't have an ILS? ....LOL
April 3, 20215 yr Picking the 300 first people who signed up was just about the dumbest way to do this possible. At least they get to say "we did a beta with users!" and mark that one as "fixed". AMD 3950X | 64GB RAM | AMD 5700XT | CH Fighterstick / Pro Throttle / Pro Pedals

April 4, 20215 yr This place really can be special at times. A chunk of the community routinely goes "Beta testers! We need beta testers! Get with it, Asobo!". Now they announce a beta testing program, albeit a small one. It may not be perfect, but it's a step in the right direction. What do we get? A thread full of "This isn't good enough! You only picked random plodders, not Serious Simmers! Get with it, Asobo!" Some of y'all could be given a puppy, and you'd complain that its ears weren't floppy enough for your tastes.
