Maybe so (and I personally agree), but why then does the official forum say:

(My Bold). That was my point, contradictory information.

The chances are very low, but better safe than sorry.

Because an addon could cause a CTD in the middle of a file write, it would be most likely if it were a very advanced addon like a map or something that runs even before you are at an airport. It's not very likely, but it is just one more possibility of something that can cause an issue. Now a CRC check or file size check would generally find the bad file anyways, but this stuff doesn't always work 100% in coding. I've had XML files in a CRC check default to an error handler and skip due to a file lock, so CRC code isn't always 100% if someone wrote bad error handling. Therefore, some addons could also cause a file locking issue.

Man, these guys (Asobo) have been quite busy fixing bugs.

Seriously?????

The game is a mess and this today is still true. It has a long way to go.

The Garmin and AP are still one happy mess!

Busy Yes! Fixing Bugs...very few.

Well, we are hoping that WT will take care of remaining GPS issues, but why is the Garmin stuff affecting you much, since there are 3rd party GPS addons for almost every GPS now?

AP isn't that bad unless you are using certain planes, it can be when it dives at the ground, but that doesn't happen much except if you try to do a full (yet still fake) RNAV without hitting the APPR button way back, which is the safest thing to do.

I don't think the game is a mess, it's not perfectly refined, but it's on its way.

Well guys,

I am just now starting my fifth restart for the update and still have 3gb to go.

This is a first for me as all my previous update installs have proceeded smoothly.

I really hope this is not an indication of how it is going to perform after the update.

Wish me luck

Ok, so I followed the link, and per your suggestion read it. It says "highly recommended" which in my understanding not necessarily means required

I'm caught in a loop with the Kingair update (20/95) right now. That's my second attempt, first one ended with an aircraft loop as well. I hope it's a temperary server glitch.

Kind regards, Michael

Kind of a curmudgeonly world view, but even you’ld have to admit that for every bug they did fix, thats one more than have been fixed in either of the other sims since March.

Nice to see a team putting in the work even if not everyone is grateful.  I for one am glad there is anyone willing to develop software for this somewhat more obscure hobby that I love.

Michael,

I do not know why this has occurred but have faith mate ... the seventh restart went all the way through.

I am now copying my Community folder back into the programme.
