But the update process itself was not being interfered with.

I have had 5 airports installed, 3 from the Marketplace, 2 from ORBX, and I never touched the Community Folder prior to or after any update of any kind and have had no troubles save 1 CTD early on w/ the IFR map issue that was rapidly solved, and one more for unknown reasons, now at well over 300h.  Never trusted mods and still don't need them.  The Citation Longitude works flawlessly always w/ procedures used, IFR/RNAV/VOR etc.  You play, you pay.  I know, there is some nice handiwork from WT but so far I'm not bored w/ what I already have.

The visual effects editor looks very interesting, they use node based on how to trigger the effects. I am just waiting for the tutorial and I would like play with it :).

For those of you that didn't get the update screen in-game (I am one of them), maybe the notification is just messed up for some versions this time. I have a special gift key digital licensed version from knowing someone at MS.

It did still let me eventually TRIGGER the update by first updating from the Microsoft Store Windows App however...
(don't forget to clear community folder and linked addons first)

1) Choose the 3 dots at top right and choose "My Library"

2) Click on Microsoft Flight Simulator

3) Unlike previous versions, for some reason it still just says "Play Now", but click the button next to play now and you'll see UPDATE... It only downloaded about 1GB here, so continue to STEP # 4.

4) Now-relaunch the game and you will get the UPDATE notification showing it needs to download about 6GB...

Odd process to say the least, but that's what worked...

we'll probably be beaten to it by other devs to be honest, i have 3 projects to take care of, im on the verge of dying already, but i promise to try 😄

Is trimming better now? It seems like you no longer have this acceleration if you keep the trigger pressed. It is moving it with the same speed for the whole range.

Did another approach into EGGD using default scenery and the ILS lined up with the runway.  Put UK2000 EGGD back in and the ILS is lined up with taxiway alpha, quite a long way off of the runway.  In both cases I di remember to switch from GPS to VLOC (so that wasn't the issue)I guess it's an issue with the UK2000 addon and I would hope they would provide a patch for that in the near future.

Anyone else having an issue with this one or any misaligned ILS beams anywhere else?

When a developer builds a third-party airport, they usually have to modify the ILS directly. Asobo has occasionally been updating the way the ILS is read from the 3PD XML, that said, they may have updated it again, but I didn't see any notices about it.

Yes its also looping for me on file 1/111 decompressing C152 aerobat with 5Gb to go 😞

I have a problem that the sim freezes/becomes unresponsive in the menues (marketplace etc). Leaving it for a while does not help, and nor does alt f4. I have to get the task manager out and quit the application that way. 

Log book still broken.

Yes have same issue. Work around has been to ZIP files up - move them to another folder - then move them back after update. Royal PITA frankly but it works...

Man, these guys (Asobo) have been quite busy fixing bugs.
