Horrible sim performance after patch 1.16.2.0

Featured Replies

Things have went from bad to worse for south Atlanta.  The Peachtree area has horrible framerates now and the worst is on the runway 13 approach into KFFC.

ATL area is even worse??  I have avoided it for a while now.  I used to be able to fly into KATL in the CJ4 and it was super smooth...I wonder what changed...??

I haven't flown in Atlanta but where I fly it's pretty smoothing. Considering that few month ago Texas was a slideshow I suggest you report to Asobo. I think they still have areas where they should fix

KTPA>KMSY was great earlier today, not quite Atlanta though.

I'm suffering the identical performance hit, especially around Hartsfield. I'd been averaging around 30 FPS. Now I get about 10-12. I made no changes at all in hardware or settings. The entire region surrounding Hartsfield is a slide show now. Don't say my machine can't handle it. My machine was handling everything perfectly well until the update.

This happened to me flying out of Annecy FR to LOWI, right out of nowhere FPS drops.  Been there several times w/o that, but could be the server issue earlier today.  It does make one wonder if this is something that is just going to happen seemingly randomly in spots, and sometimes more consistently in other spots.

Every time there's an update, I try to see if things get better.  Today I tried the new patch.  Nope!  Still doesn't run well on my system.  Frame pacing issues like crazy.  Back to X-plane for me again.  I've really been having a blast with X11 lately.

Don't know if it's "horrible," but it does seem somewhat diminished.  I just bought MSFS Premium Deluxe outright; previously, on my XBox Game Pass standard edition, using Squirrel's steps for graphics tuning on my relatively-antiquated system. I was able to get 30FPS at high-end settings with the default A320 at EGLL in the rain at dawn (which I found to be the most taxing scenario).  With my newly=purchased version including the latest update, I had to dial it down to medium to keep the frames from dropping into the mid-20s.  Still quite flyable and good-looking, but not quite what it was beforehand.

Diminished compared to pre WU3 but better than 1.15 here.

Could be...not sure I ever used MSFS between 1.15 and 1.16.

This may have something to do with the tree coverage and whatever they did that is new.  Other areas are smooth as silk with the new trees Asobo placed into this update but when you get into areas with dense trees like the south ATL area that's when things go down hill.

Didn't some people wanted more trees? I have noticed more tress than before flyingl over SoCal today!

It happened to me today on approach to a regional airport (SKLM) in Columbia.
