May 28, 20215 yr I've taken a break from MSFS after too many unpredictable stutters and pauses recently. The event that really made me loose motivation was a CTD on approach into Florence after an otherwise enjoyable flight. I fly with AI traffic (ground and air) off but multiplayer on. Also rolling cache on, dunno if that causes performance degradation... 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

May 28, 20215 yr As already mentioned, I observe much more stutters, even in remote areas with small aircraft. I have no live traffic but ai generated traffic. It is very random and not necessarily dependent on add-ons. I have bad stutters in Upper Austria flying towards the Alpes with no mesh or airport addons being active. On the other hand I have smooth flights over Vancouver Island with 3rd party mesh and some add-on airports. - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).

So I am wondering what will happen when DX12 is introduced ? More load will be put on the graphics card, both GPU and VRAM. Not everyone has a 3090 with 24 Gb VRAM. May 28, 20215 yr That is true. While i run on a laptop now due to space and mobility constraints (i need to take the PC with me quite often), there isn't really much difference from the 5800x / 2080Ti i left behind, if any. P3D runs so well nowadays, i hope they bring major improvements to MSFS with DX12 and moving tasks to other threads. May 28, 20215 yr I noticed some stuttering on airports after SU4. And I noticed quite a few CRJ aircraft on every airport I flew to. I checked them, and I guess they were Aerosoft CRJ models with full poly count. So if you have installed the CRJ or other 3rd party aircraft you might want to set "use generic aircraft for AI" (sorry, don't know the exact wording - but you'll find out for sure) in your settings. For me it resolved the issue - but I have to live with those ugly standard aircraft. Asus ROG STRIX X870-E Gaming; Ryzen9 9950X3D; RX9070XT; 96GB RAM; 4GB/2GB M.2 SSD; 8GB HDD; LG 45GX90SA-B

They wanted trees extended out further from the aircraft when in flight not more concentrated trees in an area. By the very nature of Georgia and it's foliage Asobo may need a more friendly approach to texturing for these types of trees. I actually noticed performance going down his after the USA Update was released and a detailed KATL was put in place by Asobo. It was downhill from there. I had Live Traffic 'off' and still saw a problem on approach to runway 13 at KFFC. I just recently tried AI Live Traffic so I know this was not a factor in what I've been seeing in the last few months only to get much worse after this update. May 28, 20215 yr I have noticed that on a long final towards a large airport that nasty stutters (1 second or more pauses) occur as one descends below about 4000 feet agl. On a hunch, I went into the options/traffic page and turned EVERYTHING off: Live traffic, AI traffic, cars, boats, ground stuff at the airport (planes, vehicles, workers), everything. Next approach to same airport was a LOT smoother. My guess is that these stutters are due to the sim loading assets (and in the case of moving assets, such as vehicles, putting them in motion) as one comes into range for them to be displayed. I'd be interested if anyone else can try this and confirm my observation. ...jim ASUS Prime Z790-E, Intel i9 13900K, 32Gb DDR5 Ram, Nvidia 3090 24Gb, Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500 GB and 1 TB, Samsung Odyssey G9 Ultrawide 49" G-SYNC Monitor.
