Like is done with many old planes IRL, I think the premise here is that an old 1040s Widgeon has been bought and then upgraded to better fit into today's flying environment -- thus the radios, GPS, HSI, and modern looking ADI. June 9, 20215 yr I can't think of anyone who has ever pleased "everyone", it's impossible to do. It's just a good thing that most of mankind has been able to adjust to prevailing circumstances. Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700F CPU @ 2.90GHz (8 cores) Hyper on, Evga RTX 3060 12 Gig, 32 GB ram, Windows 11, P3D v6, and MSFS 2020 and a couple of SSD's
June 9, 20215 yr I love the way it flies. Got the 1.4 update. One thing. Currently the shown percentage mixture is only working on the port engine mixture. So you adjust that one to whatever percentage you want, but you have to eyeball the starboard one to be equal visually because the indicated percentage isn't working correctly - they are somehow tied. Can that be fixed?

June 9, 20215 yr Anyone knows if it will appear on SimMarket eventually? If the answer is a definit "no" I will get it rather sooner than later. Thanks Karl i9-9900K@5,0 | 32GB 3200 | 2080TI | 4K 55" | MSFS | P3D V5
June 9, 20215 yr It gets more "gooder" and "gooder". Flight wise, it's a dream. Excuse my perfect English. Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700F CPU @ 2.90GHz (8 cores) Hyper on, Evga RTX 3060 12 Gig, 32 GB ram, Windows 11, P3D v6, and MSFS 2020 and a couple of SSD's

But I always prefer to buy directly from the developer because updates are available sooner (and it is better for the developer). "To each their own". Al Edited June 9, 20215 yr by ark
June 10, 20215 yr Commercial Member Beta 1.5 is available to download. Floats have been updated and you can now turn with no water rudder since the sim allows steer angle for the floats. Bulbs for the cabin light and red panel lights all work now. And you can click the panel lights knobs on all 4 of the red lights. The NAV/COMM volume knobs now power off the unit and the battery switch does not auto move them to turn off as that was a bug. ELT in the on position now stays on. The compass ball have a new am improved texture with larger text. Stall speeds have been calibrated. The ADF needle was 180 degrees off and it fixed. The mixture tooltips were showing the same value and are now fixed. ========================= We are still working on the clock backlight being stuck on. This is not an easy fix due to the type of xml. Still working on images and a user manual so we can do an actual release of the product to all stores. Edited June 10, 20215 yr by Flysimware
June 10, 20215 yr Thank you! You guys are quick on fixing stuff... Love it. My initial impression was pretty rough but I really like the aircraft and you guys fixed quite a bit since release.

There normally would not be this many issues but this is a new sim and things that worked before failed after some late changes and the new issues were never noticed. So we like to give out a beta first for those who want to test the product for us. We are not the ones who opened this thread and we never claimed this was our release. So not sure how you had a rough impression as the installer says beta. But thanks for sharing your thoughts as you do like the product now that the issues have been resolved. June 11, 20215 yr Commercial Member I was thinking it would be nice to add a ground power unit. But i have documentation on where a GPU would plug into the aircraft. Or if this was something some added as a feature later as the original probably never had a plug. i figure they just charged the battery elsewhere or ran the charge cable through the nose doors. Anyways share some images or draw a diagram and we can add this feature if it makes sense. I also am not even sure where the batteries are located. Edited June 11, 20215 yr by Flysimware

Because I have other Flysimware planes I was confident that this was going to be a cracking add on, but you guys are something of a "hidden gem." Regardless the "Widge" is great fun!

Well, part of the issue (that is somewhat rectified by the fact that most issues I have seen and posted about have now been resolved and that it is wicked charming and is such a JOY to fly) is that this is a port in a graphic sense. I own this plane on P3D and while it fits into that, everything in P3D is relatively... "ugly"? 🙂 In MSFS, we have a lot of aircraft now that is coming from third party developers that uses full graphic potential in terms of modeling and texturing. This aircraft looks ROUGH in terms of what you see in the cockpit... So it's a straight port - not in a functionality way, because obviously things have been reworked, but in a graphical fidelity sense. Graphically, it remains a disappointment. However, I don't regret buying it and fly it often, just cause it's still a blast. I'd rather have THIS than nothing because I am in love with seaplanes. But the reality is that... this is kinda where it sits right now - an ugly duckling with LOTS of character and great flight characteristics. I am just being honest and transparent with you, so please don't take offense. I do love the bird and thank you for bringing it to us and getting issues sorted out quickly.

Appreciate the joy in the product but did not want to hear anyone unhappy with the new PBR paint which was done using Substance Painter. I have known i was not the greatest photoshop painter over the years so i invested in a leading industry product that basically does all the magic for you. So here is an example of how the fuselage was done using Substance Painter on our product description page. I think most will agree that this is how they want to see our products painted. The reason you might call it an ugly duckling is not the professional approach but the old aged bird. I also kept the reflection down as this older metal loses it over time from the sun. So yes i could make a very new looking bird and also make it look like all the default MSFS 2020 birds with very intense PBR reflection but that is what we did not want for this product as we want to offer something that is not in 100% perfect condition which is unrealistic. Even the default should have some type of aging even if it was very minor. This is actually a piece of art how the aging looks from Substance Painter. So my question is do you want a super reflective paint because the model will allow you to create one and it will look superb. But i will leave that for the re painters. P.S. the product page is done everyone...https://flysimware.com/website2019/flysimwares-msfs2020-grumman-g-44a-widgeon/ Substance Painter Video https://flysimware.com/website2019/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/SUBSTANCE-PBR-PAINT.mp4 Edited June 11, 20215 yr by Flysimware
