One can get "attached" to that view from the back seat. I'm almost sold.

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700F CPU @ 2.90GHz (8 cores) Hyper on, Evga RTX 3060 12 Gig, 32 GB ram, Windows 11, P3D v6, and MSFS 2020 and a couple of SSD's

I was bullied into buying it this afternoon. I had it in my basket since Chocks review but held back. I have to say the review smacked of 'faint praise'. Anyhow, peer pressure reared it ugly head...again...and I succumbed.

Bloody nice plane! Apart from the cockpit text, which I understand has come in for some stick, it's a really nice plane to fly. At a tenner you'd be daft not to.

The dev said he is looking for a "better hand written font" .

It should be a simple job to remove the writing.   Most real life Stearman cockpit photo's seem to show either no labels or printed labels stuck on.

Great plane and a joy to fly. It is really suited for taking in the scenery as it rumbles along.

If you like this type of aircraft it is worth it for sure. I really enjoy mine, after I figured out you have to baby the throttle, as it should be, to keep it from cutting off. And apply more mixture than I though when cold & dark starting, also as it should be I suspect. Really fun for $15.00 USD, like I said if you like this type aircraft. Talk about Low & Slow 🙂 And checking out some scenery, plus adding a person, it's super FUN! And now more liveries are starting to show up slowly!

Remember out wishlist we made in 2019 not long after the announcement of MSFS?

A PT-17 Stearman was on mine along with a Kodiak, which is being worked on by Simworks, I think?

I'm happy already! Got one of them, waitng on the other 🙂

The ultimate low and slow summer sightseer, and you can have a bit of fun with her as well. Absolutely loving this little beauty. Bargain for a tenner!

She is definitely in the "low and slow" category but...When I take her to treetop level, like when I am shooting bridges or slaloming through downtown Atlanta, the feeling of speed and "seat of the pants" flying is very cool. 120 mph in an open cockpit feels dangerous! Yeah, I think DC Designs have done very well and the price is more than generous. I have no desire for military jets in MSFS but if they do another vintage trainer like the Stearman it will be an insta-buy.

This thread fills me with perplexity 😅 !

The main argument of you, guys, seems 'she is a good one for fifteen euro-bucks' !  Not  really a pusher ! It sounds like the product is not very good but if you have fifteen bucks that you don't know what to do with go for it. Motivation, ground level !

Is this aircraft good or no, whatever her price ? I am a bit wary of reading about the absence of torque.

Dom, just buy it. You won't be disappointed. Man up!

Yeah, its good...I am not a pilot IRL but she feels convincing to me and is fun to fly. I think people mention the price simply because it is a bargain.

edit: It just goes to show that pricing in flight sims is a tricky thing...

whether its worth it certainly depends on the pricing, so for the money asked its worht it yes, but if you want true realistic flight.

no thats not there, so i guess no go for you dominique. i say the spitfire is better there and still quite cheap.

but i love those oldies so yes buy for me and i am having fun with it.

Maybe people are misunderstanding some of us, or me at least. And everyone has different standards no matter the price. I know nothing about the torgue in a real one, or anything else like that. I wil tell you though, I am often a Control E, or startup on the runway type person. Depending on the plane and mood I am in. But after trying several times to do a cold and dark start and also trying to keep her running after landing, I realized, after talking to a friend that bought it, that giving it more mixture, and keeping the throttle up when she starts to sputter on landing is something I enjoy very much.

So to rephrase not only is it a great deal to me only at $15.00 USD, but is great to fly, hear the sounds of the radial engine ( I hope that is correct ), fire up from cold & dark, try to keep her running at idle, and just a joy to fly low & slow, but she will rock and roll for this type plane.

My problem is no flaps, trying to get her slow enough on landing to keep from running off the runway. But all of this is my problem and have to learn to fly it properly. Which is also something I don't usually take the time to learn, but on this aircraft it is actually fun for me.

But once again, each person is different whether a plane is worth the price. Up to you at the end! But if your like me and like to have FUN and like this type aircraft, worth even more to me than $15.00. Depends on the person I guess!

I buy very few aircraft, not a question of budget, just the way I use the sim, I fly the same bird for weeks even months.

@Torsen's cursory (but to the point !) mini-review upthread listed some unsavoury flaws . What about since after the SP ?

I've flown the Spit' in MFS for tens of hours now, she has flaws in the drag dept but she is a good one for sure. Great fun in the good sense, challenging.
