Shift+Z is back !!!!!!!

Featured Replies

Does the digital readout also give access to all the moving airfoil positions if wanted (i.e. elevator trim position readout, rudder trim position readout, ailerons, elevators)?

We have this in another sim, and it is very helpful for times when you want to troubleshoot your joystick or know if your trims are zeroed out, etc.

**EDIT: after checking the MS webpage which details the accessible parameters, the answer is no...doesn't seem to be any access to airfoil nor joystick positioning.

Well, that's fantastic!

But there's a conflict: Shift+Z is the key combination for Autopilot.

I don't know if I can change it.

There is an explanation in the notes on the flightsim.to page.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

Yes, John, you can, the developper says:

"Note: By default the "Z" key is set to toggle the autopilot. You can remove this keybind in the settings or disable the shift+z shortcut in the userconfig.ini inside the add-on folder. "

Intel i9 - GPU RTX 3080 - 32 gig RAM HyperX Fury DDR 4

Hi,

I tried to changfe the key combiantions, but it is impossible. In Controls says Autopilot on: ALT+Z, but is not true. In my case Autopilot On/OFF is activated with Shift + Z.

Thank you, I'll try right now!

Thanks for sharing this, sorely missed.

I hope a modder can bring back the handy view keys from FSX (S, SHIFT+S, A, SHIFT+A etc)

When making changes to the Shift+Z userconfig.ini file is there a way to see the changes without having to restart the sim every time? I use the Add-On Linker but still have not found a convenient way to view add-on changes.

Thx,

Al

Hi,

I think there's no other way.

You have to restart the sim.

Huh my Autopilot toggle is just 'Z'.

I don't know if I changed it at some point and forgot.

I was afraid of that!  😉 Thanks for the response.

Couple of other questions:

If you want to assign a different key (or key combo) to activate this app, how do you do that? I understand how to change the userconfig.ini file to disable the Shift+Z shortcut, but don't see how to assign a new activation key to the app.

Finally, at the bottom of the userconfig.ini file I made the changes below to change all the displayed text to white. This works for TextColor.2, but TextColor.1 displayed text remains red. What am I doing something wrong?

Thx,

Al

;Custom text and background colors
TextColor.1=255,255,255
BackGroundColor.1=0,0,0,0
TextColor.2=255,255,255
BackGroundColor.2=0,0,0,0

Why are folks trying so hard to "FSX/P3D" MSFS 2020?

I'm (kind of) joking.😄

I agree if they want MSFS to be like FSX/P3D give us flybies, tower views, particle (water wake) effects and replays while they are at it. Also a working AP. I'm not joking.

Here you go Hangar.  Is this little tool any good?  I used it recently to prove it wasn't my controller when the Arrow was pulling to the left - I solved it by adding passenger weight in the end.

Re:  The bottom right 'I am doing something' spinner.

Well then, I could counter by saying I don't know why people have an issue with people having an issue with it.

If you really want to keep it (for whatever reason I can't imagine), then having an option of a toggle to choose to remove it wouldn't hurt you, would it?

For me, on some flights, it is almost constantly popping up in the bottom right corner, causing a distraction, and spoiling screenshots and videos.  I can't explain it any better than that unfortunately.  It is totally useless and unnecessary.
