Windows 11

I will pass. The features of rounded corners, having the taskbar at the bottom center, newsfeed in the start button, compatibility with Android apps and versatile window docking are not worth the headache with hardware requirements and the need to have a MS account (for the home version). Am I the only one who feels that the UI has been so optimized since Windows 7 that Microsoft doesn't know what else to improve and sells any little changes (like the centrally located taskbar) as something revolutionary?

Its a free update

Win 11 would be free. But given the present specs it would require me a hardware upgrade for > 2000 $. Not sure I'm ripe for this. My system handles all present sims pretty perfect, let alone the office apps for work.

Kind regards, Michael

Microsoft would need to pay me to give up Windows 10 and switch to 11 now.

This is not revolutionary at all : I'm  using a centralized taskbar for years under Linux.

Hi,

Yesterday I installed Windows 11.

Everything was ok (or I think so...).

Flight Simulator works like in Windows 10.

Just checked on my system as well, nothing has changed.

Windows apps feel more snappy though, maybe placebo, maybe they actually managed to reduce loading times 🙂

I'm tempted to try the Insider Dev Channel; Preview but this is my Work PC as well as Game PC so I think I'll wait for the first Beta Channel release before I switch.

Hi,

I had to change from Beta to Dev Channel because I recieved an e-mail from the Insider Program telling me that my PC was not compatible with Windows 11 (which, obviously, was not true!).

Now I can't change to Beta Channel (I have that possibility only if I install Windows 11 from scratch from an ISO build).

For now I am not going to do anything because everything seems to be OK.

Without beta testers, the wheel would never have been developed.

Presumably the controlled use of it was developed -- by beta testers?
