Doing a Flight from KATL to KSEA right now, no issues yet.

Well 4 days v 10 weeks isn't particularly impressive 😉

It is if it continues. If there was any real issue i would have expected it by now. Also considering i have completed 2 Trans atlantic flights in that time period. Win 10 never managed that for me ever.

It's 10 minutes now since I've installed win11 and I've NEVER had any problems!😁

Windows wants to schecule my upgrade to 11 now.  I have no fear.  People had the same fears about Windows 7 when it first came out.  (And probably every other version before that).

My PC also became compatible after a motherboard bios update.  It must turn on the security setting by default on the new bios.  It also sorted out an issue with my new graphics card randomly switching resolution on boot up, so after wasting many hours swapping drivers; that was a bonus - sometimes you have to update things!

There will be some problems, but they will be sorted out.  If you don't have faith in this then you must have no faith in the MSFS gradual drive towards improvement and stability also.

I am not expecting any extra performance.  If all goes well I will report back.  If I don't report back it is because I can't boot!

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

I can just imagine the threads now, "Just installed W 11, and now _ _ _ _ doesn't work in MSFS. ( fill in the blanks) . What could be wrong? "🤨

   Should be interesting.

Been on win11 for months now, and if anything, I seem to be having less issues than most people.

Keep in mind that Windows 11 isn't an upgrade, but rather a downgrade from Windows 10. As numerous tech sites have mentioned, Microsoft is taking back more control from the user with every update and version of Windows (e.g. less and less options on the Control Panel etc in W11),  and their plan is to shift everything onto the Cloud in due course with minimum input from the user.

So by using Windows 11 now, while Windows 10 continues to be available until 2025, you're actually helping to speed up the demise of Windows as we know it.

Can you do any of these things? Because I was informed that they would not change in the final release.

I did try some of them :

 Task Bar

Drag and drop files to running apps -> Ok with Thunderbird for example

Cannot drag and drop app icons to pin to task bar -> right clic and pin to taskbar

No option to choose task bar location -> left or Center

No option to choose task bar size -> no option

Never Combine Labels options missing -> no option

No option to turn system icons on/off in tray -> you can, just google - I can !

No clock on secondary monitor -> Cannot test - only 1 monitor 5120x1440

System time doesn't show seconds -> no seconds

Task bar context menu only settings option. No option to launch task manager, etc -> second icon on your W11 taskbar

No toolbars in taskbar. Cannot add Address, Links, Desktop and Custom folders to Task Bar

No screen snip in quick actions menu

Shift + Click - No longer open new instance of an app -> Ctrl N

No option to quickly change Power Mode (Best Battery Life, Best Performance, etc) from task bar

Apps can no longer customize areas of the Taskbar

Cannot view or add Calendar events from Taskbar

    People bar has been removed

As is the world.
By using the motor car and not horse and carriage, you’re speeding up the demise of horses and carriages.
By using the mobile/cell phone, you’re speeding up the demise of the fixed land line.
Etc etc etc.

I am not quite sure, as an end user that just wants to sim/game, what the issue is?

To be honest, I don't like where technology is headed. We're giving up our privacy for "convenience". All this cloud stuff is great and all when used for reasonable things such as streaming data for flight simulation. But forcing it on people by removing these options is a big no no. I also don't like that it requires people to have a microsoft account in order to log into your own desktop. This whole "cloud" thing just has an evil ring to it.

Whoever created that might not be very adaptable. Most of that stuff I never even missed, but once I saw it mentioned, I mostly found that it was simply done in a slightly different way, now.

For family members I've switched over so far (And yes, I was worried about them being confused by the changes) not a single one has reported a problem doing what they needed to do.

Nobody has even had to ask me any questions, which was definitely not the case for the switch to windows 10. They seem to have very easily adapted.

There is other OS alternative. You are not forced to use Windows 10 or 11.
