If xplane 12 conforms to this video, it won't impact. LR needs to make a big transformation to stay in the fight with MSFS2020. That's my opinion.

Too short to tell but that video doesn’t look strikingly different from XP11.

(In before the thread is ruined!).

A default Airbus is great!

I reckon the preview is actually XP11, with just experimental new gen lighting.

Yes, I agree that visuals need to improve further. New lighting is better, but hopefully it's just an early iteration, and will be improved further. The other sims have very good lighting, especially in daylight at altitude. We've mostly seen sunrises and sunsets for this early XP12 lighting.

I agree with the previous comments, I want to see XP12 succeed and be relevant, but they need to up their game in regards to scenery IMO (seasons, better default textures, etc.)

I suspect scenery previews will probably come last, IMO it needs to be previewed as part of a total new global re-cut after data processing etc...otherwise the best that can be shown is not-in-sim render of a random new art asset, or some nerdy blog posts like 'we are considering multiple uvs and new channels of stuff for textures' ***

***Actually a comment made by Ben at the blog and this probably implies new features like seasons or other stuff...as new channels in textures are needed to control new features for art assets.

Hopefully some weather and clouds previews next!

Yeah, think I got hoodwinked by the thread title. It’s introducing the new plane, not XP12 per se.

So far and little over 5000 + views with such strong reaction for the defaults A330 in the short time its been up. If they are that excited over a default A330 in spite of any 3PD offering, I would hate  to see what there reaction to a new weather systems would be. I may never make it to the bottom scrolling the comments. jeez. Very interesting.

Not impressed, scenery looks as bland as XP11.

They are not showing off their scenery, they are showing off the plane.

All of the scenery was deliberately kept in dark shadow because there was nothing new to see. The "XP12 New Gen Preview" looks like the old XP11 and XP10 and XP9. This video reminds me of the pitiful P3D V5 promo video. Too little, too late. RIP

Too late for what?

Too late to be rehabilitated and saved from dying.
