I agree that cockpit engine sound needs to be cut in half.

I owned a 1946 C-140 IRL.  Handles pretty realistically.  Could use an out-of-factory livery and a simple VOR navcomm. Seems to run a bit slow - I got 105 mph at 2350 RPM IRL

The cockpit is loud...I will take it from a IRL 140 pilot that it is too much so. I still don't know why I am getting nothing from the ammeter, the screen shots from Todd2 seem to show it working...I am using add on linker...maybe that's an issue. I am getting pretty close to 105mph with 2350RPM  at 1000 ft in Macon GA

edit: I am not sure the Master Ignition Switch is working correctly for me...I don't know what the issue might be.

edit2: it works with a runway start...but not from parking spot start. I will report...anybody else notice this behavior?

The sound issue confounds me, since the C140 sounds in the FSX Steam version from Aeroplane Heaven were terrific.  Put me right back in memory lane.  So why are the sound files not the easiest thing in the world to port right over?  I would love to be able to rip them out of the FSX version and dump them right in here to replace the new sounds.  Hope they can easily fix this and soon in an update.

The sounds are great they are just too loud in the cockpit

always try first with no other mods on.

the addon linker is not the issue.

maybe a double key assignment?

Any review guys? How do you like it? Based on screenshot G1000 installed in most awkward position. To bad we don't have Aspen, Dynon or Avidyne avionics to make older airplane look more realistic!

Cessna 140 by Aeroplane Heaven - First impressions

This is the only video I have found online so far. Not a review, but gives a good idea of what it's like.

They model an interested cockpit. Those two point harnesses and air vent are definitely weren't ship with original model but rather were retrofited!

Just bought it and I like it.  Did a flight over the southwest US at dusk and it look amazing.  The cockpit has great character to it, flight model feels right, and overall a good looking little bird.

First thing I tried was no mods...including FSUIPC. I do not see any double key assignments either. Works if I do a runway start doesn't if I start cold and dark, every time. I guess I will wait to hear from APH...Still a fun little birdie though, I like it quite a bit despite the bug.

There are reports in the main forums about some electrical issues with both the ammeter and start switch.  Is it just the ammeter or does the battery eventually go flat and the engine stop ?

Someone threw this short video up online (note this not my video just reposting it).

I haven't had electrical failure but the only long flight I have done was a runway start...so I don't know. I am sure it will be sorted soon enough.

Here is that old panel from I think FS98 or FS 2000 I mentioned. Looks like it had a 'longwave' (LORAN?) radio. I do remember changing the stations it received with 'tune' button to .wav files of old time radio AM broadcast stations to mimic the way some pilots navigated back then. I made it to play Jack Benny, Lone Ranger, Lights Out, Dragnet, stuff like that when you pushed the 'tune' button.

Hello all. Glad people are enjoying the C140, thanks for buying. Sales so far are extremely encouraging. We are preparing a hot-fix for some of the issues covered here. We have a float version in the wings but right now floats don’t work in MSFS. Any aircraft you may have seen apparently using floats is a workaround, using scrapepoints labelled as floats. This just stops the thing from sinking. Mind you the depth of the water is about 2 feet wherever you go so you could probably get out and walk. Bear with us and we’ll have a hot-fix up, probably this weekend if we can.

On other fronts we are at work on the DC-3 as we write and the Spitfire is now just waiting on its new pro-built soundpack.
