Now what happens tomorrow ??

I (and at least one other) are really looking forward to the update of that great and sadly overlooked International airport KESN which Microsoft have worked on tirelessly to appease one disgruntled customer.

I thought that the XBox version was released tomorrow and the SU5 Update was the 29th. Is this not correct?

Sheer excitement and wonder till the release following by pages and pages of threads talking about the density of trees and the sacrifices we now have to make for the X-Box users.

Do we know if the next, say SU6, will be out the same day for Xbox and PC users. I would guess so from Tuesday forward, right?

They’ve said all future updates will be released on both platforms simultaneously

That is not correct. Where did you hear that?

I expect the usual chorus of cries and complaints.

supposedly there are new accessibility options added to the xbox version, I can't wait to see if they are also added to the pc version as well. That's for me to be excited about!

They’ve said the PC and Xbox versions are virtually identical.

I’m guessing the only real differences are at the hardware and OS interaction level.

I will skip downloading the patch tomorrow and read all comments all night long instead, my plan is to install the patch on Wednesday when the servers have cool off a little.

I haven't had one CTD on the latest SU5. Doesn't mean that holds true for everyone with all the different hardware out there. I don't have any 3rd party software loaded either.

An empty community folder is going to be critical on that one...trust me.

And make sure you go over ALL the new options in the menu before starting a million new threads here 😄

There are a few accessibility and assists options that can be quite confusing at first.

But all in all, SU5 is a TREAT!

The only thing we know about tomorrow is The sun will rise, the sun will set and we all have the individual choice as to how we react to whatever happens in between...

Whatever MS/Asobo do only we control how we react/behave after it happens...

Have a Wonderful Day

One thing I am genuinely hoping for is an update that can perhaps bring down the need for me to spend around £2,000 on a new PC. I have deliberately held off MSFS for the last year due to many reasons not related to the sim, but I am now in a position to purchase a new PC build. Again, I have held off purchasing anything new over the last couple of months, it would be fairly typical of me to purchase something for £2k and then a few weeks later, a £1.5k PC will do the business.

Does anyone think this is a possibility? Obviously we will know more from tomorrow but it would genuinely be fantastic if this performance update meant people like myself, slightly anxious about buying/spending on expensive computers, can get away with a more budget friendly alternative.

Of course. This will happen.
For $500USD you can get the Xbox-X. This box is a PC. It takes keyboard, yoke, the new honeycomb controls, etc. And we have seen it running with top scenery smooth. This has been built for study level simmers as well.
Its not there now, but one hopes someone  builds the communications pack for Network flying ( IVAO, VATSIM) .

When graphics cards were at normal prices, you could build an $800 PC and it would run MSFS around 30 FPS to 35 FPS, high settings, 1080p, for most cities (except Manhattan), and using default GA planes.  That was roughly my PC before I upgraded my RAM. That is, a PC with i5-9400, GTX 1660 Super, 16 GB RAM, could get you 30 FPS to 35 FPS based on all the settings I outlined above.  With the rise in graphics cards prices, and I think two months ago there was even a jump in RAM price, I don't know if you can build the same PC for $800 USD today.  But it was possible last August & September.

If graphics cards prices return to normal, you could build a better PC for around $800 using the RTX 3060 instead of a GTX 1660 Super, which would probably give you more than 30 FPS to 35 FPS using the same settings I mentioned.
