List of changes:

Update July 26, 2021

– [07/26/21] Removed user option for Maximum upper visibility – Due to latest P3D depiction changes, 200 miles works best in all cases tested and provides smoother visibility horizon when viewed from above – Now forced to 200 always

– [07/25/21] Fixed occasional failure of cloud layers to depict when using ASCA, accompanied by log errors regarding unable to lookup cloud model data

– [07/25/21] Additional client logging for ASP3D version mode selection

– [07/25/21] Added further checking and prevention of using mismatched P3D version and ASP3D version mode (for example, using P3Dv4 but selecting P3Dv5 in ASP3D)

– [07/25/21] Adjusted “Waiting for simulator” and “Prepar3D connected” status indicators to include P3D version mode selected and P3D simulator version respectively

Does it mean that it will be only one visibility layer with 200nm enforced max vis?

Why, if you don't like it, turn it off again ...

because i have sky force , envshade, AI reborn and black marble stuff and all that has to be re injected into the sim, and i work 1 week on 1 week off away from home , so dont really have the patience and time to keep trying EA , dont get me wrong i want to , but time is precious !

I don't understand the hesitation as I have been using EA with AS since forever and within the current EA implementation, everything was OK. I don't see why this release would be any different, there are no major changes.

Is the haze better now?

They made no new changes other than forcing one to use 200nm for max visibility. Most already had that selected. Looks like the rest are backend type changes. So if you have 200 selected now,  you will not see anything different as they have not brought anything new that we would see in sim.

I wish they would work on dynamic weather themes for EA Volumetric clouds instead of the default global theme we are forced to use with instantly changing weather. But it seems with them developing for MSFS, P3D does not appear to be their top priority anymore judging by the utter lack of new AS3PD features which have been very few.

Them developing what exactly for MSFS? Considering Asobo doesn't have weather open to 3rd party devs right now... The same roundabout method REX did?

Either way, I have MSFS and it will be MSFS. I really wish HiFi would focus on P3D cause their stuff could definitely use some improvement. MSFS already looks good and until they open up weather to third parties, there isn't much that can be done - there is already REX there and most people I know don't use it.

Since 5.2 those abrupt weather changes have been pretty immersion-killing for me. In 5.1 at least there was a way to "gradually" change weather. Now it just appears to change magically.

EA volumetric "dynamic" variable themes are hopefully coming in the future from P3D, and if/when they do, we are ready to (re) integrate with that with lots of prep work already done.  P3D is still a big focus for us and I don't see that changing.  We've been actively maintaining and redesigning parts for each new P3D version, and we are actively working on new ASP3D features with plans to continue that for the foreseeable future.

I am using the new AS upgrade with EA....works well enough, though it takes a short time, maybe a minute or two, for precipitation to show up in a given region where rain is part of the metar.

I would not count on this, because in the ToDo- listing of the MSFS-team, there is a wishlisting which is called "open Weather-system for 3rd-party devs, But it´s "not planned" so far.
