Microsoft Flight Simulator | Sim Update 5 | INCREDIBLE!!

Recommended Posts

You can turn off the blue highlights when you hover over knobs. Go to your options, accessability and enable legacy mode. They have changed some things around for X-Box and casual flyers. No big deal. Just switch the option and you're back.

Wrong legacy. The Legacy you want is in Options > Accessibility > Cockpit interaction System

Oh, thanks. I'm sure that will solve it.  Will try in the morning.

Thanks too Captain420.

I'm getting CTDs in map mode so I learned you cant zoom in and out too quickly.  I'm also getting a bizarre frame rate decrease right at the moment of liftoff in the FBW A320,  I also noticed that the FBW A320 cockpit has gone wonky. Many of the textures are flickering and I have tried to remedy this to no avail.  So if someone knows how to fix it please let me know.

Works great and smooth,  for example...a water tower near my home base, that used to be a blob is now much more defined and is visible from a distance.

Fps definitely higher and smoother in my mid-range system.

Everything is so bright that the realism has gone.

Clouds don't look as realistic.

Workaround for the overexposed sky and clouds if using SDR (not HDR10) monitor is here.

Left this downloading overnight and tried one of my FPS killers (Ibiza with Photogrammetry) on High-End graphics preset - the performance is incredible, and I just don't understand the fuss with pop-in when panning, I can hardly notice it

Big thumbs up from me, excellent work Asobo 👍

how has it hurt your computer?

- Worse performance: fps dropped from 60 to 40

- Controller configuration: several of my controllers had wrong axis assignments.

- Worst of all: it seems to have ruined my throttle quadrant. Right after the first flight, my left throttle lever stopped working: it only moves by about 5% in the VC if I move it fully back and forth. This even persists outside of MSFS. I tried to fix it using a calibration software provided by the manufacturer, but I have the same behaviour in that software as well. Don't ask me how that could have happened, I have no idea. I just report what I observed after the update.

I have contacted the manufacturer and asked for help.

Performance does seem to have improved - Need to do some more testing later on. I do have an issue with controller bindings though, for example I had brakes on the trigger on my joystick and that has stopped working. It's still assigned correctly in the options but when you try and reset it, it doesn't seem to recognise the button. Not sure whats going on there but will have to try and figure that one out at some point.

Looking good so far, only done one flight from EGPH-EGLL with the FBW latest build. One thing i need to change is the big labels that pop up when you adjust alt. speed etc. Download was a nightmare though... 11.5 hrs for 40gig....

still assessing the performance, but what I did notice straight away was that if I held down the right mouse button to look around - none of my inputs work - rudder/throttle or Yoke/stick

anyone else notice this?
