I had the strange effect that the textures underneath my plane switched all the time. Looking right or left was okay. This was in the slow C152 in Northern Germany.

I tend to agree. CTDs are one thing. But I think threads like these go to a different level where folks are just looking for things instead of just enjoying the experience.

It still looks better than FSX or P3D, so even if something has changed, why obsess over it? I know that’s not a popular view.

Control what you can and live with what you can’t control, and know the difference.

Neil, not all people are the same. Different personalities, different views and so on.

Humanity as a whole owes a lot, or may I say everything, to people who didn't accept the "Control what you can and live with what you can’t control" philosophy.

There is a possible (only possible) scenario in which we pc users have been used to iron out bugs, tell people how wonderful this game was, create a community with Twitch and YouTube content. In short, we have been used to improve and sell the product to its real market: xbox users. Of course, you can't sell a title that won't achieve 30 fps. So you nerf the graphics until it fits in.

This would also explain why there was no opt-in beta testing: we were the beta testers, they pushed mandatory updates on us to have one active version at a time. Meanwhile, we also helped stress-testing their servers. By the way: we paid for this. Some of us more than 100 euros. Some people bought content from third parties, peripherals, new hardware, based on the fact that we were promised UPGRADES FOR TEN YEARS

I still sincerely hope the seven lines above are just the product of my fantasy (as, admittedly, they are at this time), but now the devs only have one way to prove it: admit that SU5 was rushed to meet the xbox deadline and that they had to downgrade the PC version because they did not have the time to fork two different versions, but with SU6 this is going to happen, and we will have all we had before and some more (the promised continuous upgrades, remember?)

Does M$ contract allow for two different versions? We don't know, but this is crucial.

If for any reason we find ourselves stuck forever with a 'box simulator, do you really think we should adopt the "Control what you can and live with what you can’t control" stance? I certainly wouldn't.

They won't admit that isn't true. Because that isn't true. These changes improved the PC version with performance. I'd rather not go back to what we had before.

@Tuskin38, are you saying that  Asobo just improved performance and nothing else? Like that, with a magic wand? And making XboxS running it at 30 frames on 4k screens?

Again…your post is a bunch of what if’s that really don’t matter. If what you say isn’t true…you can’t change it and it’s a waste of energy. If it is true? You still can’t change it. 😂

That was my point.

My point is that this is not true.

As I said, different personalities, different ways of thinking. We are not all equals.

I need not prove what is evident. But if you are so happy with this version, be careful: next crashdate may hit you instead :-)))))

No, the culling when not looking at something is what helps and I'm happy for it.

But a lot of the other visual degration people mention doesn't actually exist. It's a bug in the sim not properly saving graphics options. If you set your preset something else and then back, it fixes a lot of the rendering issues people mention.

The "when not looking" part is true, I give you that.

Are you sure you're looking at proof and not a bug?

Same observation but only in the external views, not in the cockpit ! I almost went crazy trying in vain to correct this thing ! 😞

My external views now pan as slow as molasses, regardless of the slider setting in the camera.

In this way we will notice no degradation.

Have you tried turning down and up the graphics again? That fixed most of it for me..

Haven’t seen either of these changes. They look the same to me

really, you know about the AI problems, that's why Kaii is busy on discord AIG, you are also posting there. It's a major cause of CTD's when used

I haven't seen any reduced live traffic in the sim. Looks the same as pre-Su5 to me.

There is the bug with live traffic spawning at the gates never departing though.

I also haven't had a single crash with Live Traffic enabled since friday's hotfix.
