Stable Nvidia Driver for SU5 456.71

Featured Replies

This may or may not work for those having ctd's or other graphical issues.

I'm just putting it out there in hopes it may help some.

If we have a baseline of what works in some systems, perhaps we can narrow down the cause of the ctd's or graphical glitches.

I've been running Nvidia Driver 456.71 since 9/29 of last year- about when it was released.

Saw no no need to change as everything I run is stable with it including MSFS SU5.

I downloaded that for future use in needed.  I still have a 1070 TI in use.  Noting the date however I feel compelled to ask what GPU you have in use.  That driver may predate nVidia 3-series cards or refinement/optimization for 3-series..

Hey FS, I'm running an EVGA RTX 2080ti Ultra.

466.63 for my GTX1080.  The best driver I've used by a long shot, and no CTDs at all (yet) since update 5 (..or any time before the update, for that matter!)

Just tried 456.71 (using DDU to uninstall previous driver) and still got a CTD, thanks for the suggestion though.

No problem Andy, wish it had worked for you.

We go through the process of elimination to find what's causing these ctd's.

I'm using 471.41 on my RTX 3070 FE and am running global on Ultra, with 50-70 fps in NYC and LA.  I have a Intel I7 10700k, displaying at 3440x1440@100hz on my 35" curved Samsung CH890.  SU 5 and subsequent hot-fix installed with no ctd's.

Asus Z590 P, Intel i7 10700k, 64gb RAM(3200), nVidia RTX 4070 FE,  Windows 10 (21H1), 2tb M.2 nvme ssd,

Samsung QN43QN90BA 43" 4K@120hz, Bose Companion 5 speakers, Velocity One Flight Yoke/Quad.

Well for what it is work tried the latest driver and dropped back to 459.51 and the draw distance and clarity are fantastic. 1080 nvidia...no CTD with update 5

No CTD and more FPS with 471.41. I advise to try it.

Some are suggesting the Studio Drivers. Might give it a shot..?

So you recommend 459.51 or the latest?

MSFS

I have the latest and experiencing zero CTD, except with the A32NX that I have uninstalled until better times.

My community folder contains only:

- propmods for standard and premium deluxe edition

- ATC stuttering fix

- no handle bar by Ither

Interesting.  Is the no stuttering fix still needed then?  As I deleted mine the other night as they seem to have done some work on it recently.

The offline voices are a lot better for instance (I don't sound like I have the voice of a 13 year old anymore!  ), and they did some work on terminology.
The better quality Azure voices always had a long delay for me, and I haven't tried them recently.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

It works for me, the new studio driver killed the sim.
