No, I said expecting developers to stop all other development in order to work on your own individual priority is childish. It was pretty clear.

Anyway, you said you’d blocked me so I’m curious to know why you’re exposing me to your poor reading comprehension again?

I didn't block you because I wanted to see if you wrote something about me.

I'm asking a mod: is this person allowed to write that I have "poor reading comprehension - again" ?

Thank you.

I do not expect to stop other developments based on my individual priority: this is not what I wrote. I believe that fixing old issues comes before adding new features, especially when those issues are pretty important to some users. I think it is different.

Even if those features are something I would like to see, and those issues do not affect me (I am not having ctds now)

Exactly, if I don't see flush toilets in the tubeliners this sim is a no-go for me.

bs

Who mentioned flushing toilets in tubeliners? Nobody.

Ctds are an issue. Bugs are an issue. Graphics problems are an issue.

Those are the things people are talking about.

They ARE fixing those.  Look at the last 2 Hotfixes and the callout for the next world update and sim update.  CTDs are being addressed.  CTDs btw are the most difficult to address because they can be hard to replicate without having the same hardware/software environment of the person having the issue.

CTDs are very important to solve as quickly as possible.  There is nothing more frustrating than someone not able to use the software they bought.  For this it would make sense to me for the sim to produce a human readable crash log to deputize all of us to help solve the problem.  That said, they have talked about the work they are doing to combat these in every correspondence that have had lately.

They've also consistently had large numbers of updates to avionics in every sim update.  Sure there are notable backfires, but those have generally been addressed as a followup in short order.  These are absolutely NOT being prioritized below new feature developments.  They just take the time they take to fix.  There is no guarantee that anything would go faster if they stopped all new feature updates.  I will shamelessly steal from another thread with the quote that "9 women cant make a baby in 1 month".  Sometimes things just take the time they take.  We've seen that story repeated over and over with previous sims.  Not sure why it has to be different here just because its a larger team.

This is an entertainment product, not a mission critical piece of software.  SU5 was the culmination of something they said was a priority from the moment the sim was announced in 2019.  Its not like it was a surprise to anyone that they were developing for the xbox platform.  Compromises were made to get it to work on that platform, but these same compromises improved performance in the sim (which was one of the top items on the feedback list since it debuted last August) For every person who was aggrieved by the decisions of where to compromise, there are a number of others who love the fact that they can have a beautiful sim that runs at a much higher rate than they would have ever expected on older hardware, and of course a new audience that can run a flight sim on a $400 piece of hardware.  I, for one, and someone who did build a top end rig, and saw a few things that bugged me and I wish hadnt changed - especially reflections in VR.  But that doesnt make me want to throw the monitor across the room in disgust.  You deal with it, then give constructive feedback to Asbobo, and voila, they are adding sliders to restore much of what was deemed "lost" (btw, if you were listening carefully in the weeks leading up to SU5 they had already been talking about settings beyond Ultra for high end PCs BEFORE the update hit).

Criticism by itself is not an issue - its warranted and has shown results.  But in this age of anonymous communication courtesy of the lovely internet, HOW the criticism is delivered matters a lot.  Calling MS corporate shills who dont care about the "simmers" (aka Pilot Cosplayers - also shamelessly stolen from a genius in another thread), and singling out Jorg and some of the other staff by name is kinda b.s.  You would never drop these conspiracy bombs in such an unscrupulous manor if you were saying it to them face to face.  And unless those guys are all highly trained actors (and I work with enough in my day job to tell you they arent), they seem really dedicated to delivering on that promise of making this a detailed simulator.  My guess is that it will take longer than we might want .. but shouldnt we be showing those millennials that we dont have to be a part of their "instant gratification" generation? 😉

(p.s. this isnt all directed at you ADamiani.. i ended up rambling and covering more ground than i first intended)

Clearly, you're not a Serious Simmer!   Have you ever thought that you might be part of the problem?  You need to get angrier about things; throwing your toys out of the pram at the first possible opportunity is how you get things done.

I had written something longer, more contemplative, and a bit less snarky earlier today.....

Then deleted it, because it's useless.

We do this with every sim. It's just what we do.

Eventually, things will settle down, and some of the most vociferous unhappy voices from today will then proclaim (with no sense of of their own history at all) that you will need to pry the perfection of MSFS (the best sim ever, by then, of course) from their cold, dead hands.

And so it goes.

*Shrug*

Yeah, I'm past the point of even arguing with the people who seem to have made perpetual MSFS-angst a core part of their existence here.   They're not going to change their minds until they do, and trying to reason with them is, as you say, pointless.

Now most of them get ignored, some of them just get laughed at, the more persistent and annoying ones go in my blocklist, and I content myself with a snarky comment here and there because, well, I'm human and flawed.  😄

(I do, seriously, think that if the number of folks who make a routine habit of popping up in threads here just to stir the poop about MSFS did the same thing in the P3D forum as often and fervently as is done here there would be more assertive moderator action.   But I have no proof of that, it's just a feeling based on my 8 years registered here participating in -- and numerous previous years of lurking in -- the FSX, P3D, XPlane, and now MSFS fora.)

most of them have now decided that they don't get their desired response on this forum and have started infesting the official forums with the same level of angst.    But hey, it's easy enough to block them there as well 🙂

I agree with most of the things you say. No prob.

And I understand that it was not against me.

What I notice happening consistently on the Internet, not just here, is that some people only want consensus.

A few times I have cited the example of hi end sound reproduction: in that case, if you say something about the effect of cables on sound, the fireworks will start before the third answer. And it will invariably end up with insults. So it's not flightsimming, and it's not Avsim.

It works consistently in this way: I have a strong idea in which I believe firmly. This idea comes from my experience, knowledge, reasoning. You say something different. So you are implicitly saying that something in my reasoning is wrong. Hence, I have to prove that you are incompetent, you can't read, you have an agenda, you are a hater, or something on that line. The alternative would be to accept that I am wrong, and I am not prepared to that.

I agree with most of the comments made about having problems. What I don't agree with is the same group saying the same negative things in EVERY thread, even if the thread begins positively. For some of us, dealing with this word not allowed in every thread is tiresome to read, destroys the good intentions of the original post and poster, and reflects negatively on those that continue to do it.

Just make a ranting negative post, and go play in it. Then you can have consensus in your own little sandboxes, and leave us to play happily with our toys.
