My steam install went great.  I literally did nothing for this update (just to test), no community folder clearing, nada.  I just clicked update and about 8 minutes later I was at the welcome screen.  KPDX to KLAX (custom airports, yes jetways showed up), FBWA320 (current experimental).  Pilot2ATC, and about 25 mods.

Smooth flight with not a single issue.  Now that I said it, I hope it contiunes.

Overexposure : the Nvidia filters help a little. Editing the usercfg doesn’t work for me. It seems that the sim overrides the eye adaptation parameter. I will try again though with the update in.

The toolbar fix isn't really anything super ground breaking.  You could easily change it in the default file if you really wanted, you'd just have to do it every time there's a patch most likely.  I took a look at the fix and the original file the other day out of curiosity and literally all the author did was set the transparency value to stay transparent instead of visible when the line is supposed to show.  So it's actually still there, you just can't see it because it's transparent.

This is speculation, but I think it's because this was a "bug" or at least an "unintended consequence" of some design choice they made with the installer.   I do not think they intended for PC MS-Store owners to have to download the X-Box app just to update the sim.   I could be wrong, because as the TV commercials say, I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

P3D is becoming obsolete though for home sim users. All the major 3rd party devs are abandoning P3D in droves.  At the rate that 3rd party devs are abandoning P3D, it will become a relic in the market for home flight simulators very soon, joining FSX as a relic as well.

Where are the Captain sim 707/727's? They dont do it because its no SDK able! No Flight engineer available. They arnt interested!

Ignore the PMDg DC6. They, wisely, built in an MCE type flight engineer. So all flyers have to do is punch buttons and it flies on autopilot! No need for MCE, just let it fly itself?

Again this is aimed at XBox fliers. Who just want to think they are flying a DC6? A GAME? Yes A GAME! A profitable game!

I am an old fart pilot from the days when you looked out of the cockpit and view'd the road networks to find your posiption! Great in MSFS.

Please dont include the FBW Airbus. This platform is highly experimental. I know, because Ive been experimenting with it for the last year! Together with a much task loaded Ben, who, inspite of his top (very top class) programming skills, has lost track of the idiotic, manic upgrades to each sim version! The FBW sim has become a nightmare for users like me! 

The current FBW does not support VNav. The G1000 NXI does. Is there no communication between devs? ???Why cannot the WT/FBW Bus support VNav? When the G100 NXi WT Devs already use it?

No one is talking to each other, because of profit making from the opposition!

MSFS is doomed to failure.

Its greed orientated and commercially biased!
