MSFS U6

Update 6.

Update doesnt install.

Go on Forums.

100's of people with same issue.

They say install XBox on PC?

After installing it from XBox...hey what?

I dont have XBox?

Win 10 MSFS update 6 installs.

So lets get to testing the new FBW Bus with MCE?

NOPE!

FBW latest version doesnt like to work with U6!

Nevermind, try a take off!

Anyone, try taking off from LOWI RW 08, RTT SID. (U6 scenery)

Now tell me you dont see the Devils Tower from Close Encounters of the Third kind?🥶

This has got to end for me.

I will be uninstalling MSFS in the near future.

Each and every update has got worse.

Enough already! MS you have messed up!

P3d will be my final resing place!

Sorry MSFS hopefuls, but this attempt at a simulator has failed, for me!

Best regards and good luck to you all.

David.

Is it that bad? I haven’t got a chance to install it yet, I work from home and was at the computer for 8 hours, don’t really feel like sitting in front of a computer for another few hours, might get around to it on the weekend..So is it that bad really?

No it’s not bad at all.  You might need to install the “Xbox” app on your pc if you don’t already and aren’t on Steam.  Don’t worry - has nothing to do with owning the console - it’s just an app updater.  Do that and the install process is easy - and the new stuff looks great!

There will always be impatient or intolerant people who will winge, complain, spit the dummy, or toss the toys out of the playpen.  There will always be teething problems with software as complex as the MSFS is, and yes, Microsoft/Asobo do need to sort them out, but patience is a virtue, and we will all be winners if we exercise it.

I had the same problem this morning with my installation, but it only took a few minutes to find a solution online, and from there it was a painless install.

This simulation is a massive leap forward from the past, and I have no doubt this update will provide endless hours of realistic and entertaining flying as well.

Precisely.  I had issues too and, I'll admit, I got a bit frustrated at one point.   But I did what a rational and mature individual does:  researched my problems, found possible solutions, tried them one by one, and managed to get things working, albeit with no small amount of effort.

Sure, it was annoying, but I understand that complex systems are... complex.   And sometimes they have issues, especially when you are progressing at a rapid pace.   Throwing fits about it doesn't do anything productive, and that time is better spent on positive solution-seeking.

And now I can spend my evening flying around Germany.   Hooray.

Updated here for me. However....

SU6 did not fix the trim issue.

After installing the xbox app updating wnt smooth and fast.

You've got to realise that not everybody follows the forums and is a little bit lost when the get a message saying to update and there is nothing in the store. Updating is straight forward IF you know your way around.

Seriously, every time there's an update and I see all the pain over trying to update for those using the Xbox app, it makes me glad I went with Steam every time.  Zero issue updating ever other than download speed in game from MS's servers.  I didn't really want to use yet another game store just for one title so it was kind of a no brainer for me anyway.  The fact that it doesn't install things in ridiculous long/cryptic folders is a nice bonus as well.
