Released: MilViz Porter for MSFS2020

Good morning,

Am I the only one who struggle to maintain the aircraft straight on take off, as soon as the tail wheel rises. I suffer the same behaviour (or bad skills) during the landing as soon as the tail wheel touches ground. I do have the wheel rudder locked on take off and landing though...

Would someone be kind enough to elaborate on the correct procedure ?

I love this aircraft but I have to say my takeoffs and landings are disastrous.

Thanks

I  am waiting n the Orbx release so do not own it, but people were saying the manual recommends full right trim on take-off.

Hi, firstly, you can check my startup cold and dark video on Youtube.

Second - its issue of MSFS, see this topic:

You can vote to fix it also here 😄:

For those who have electrical problems, it is awfully easy to mistake the gen reset for the aux fuel pump switch and discharge your battery.  Just sayin' what a friend told me  😁

I see...thank you for the informations. By the way, I did use full right rudder trim. I will now try to use auto-rudder and see if it helps...

Just make sure you don't induce a hotstart.  You'll have to reset.

Anyway - Fuel Valve on - Battery On - AV Bus Tie Out - Bus 1 On - Aux Fuel Pump On - Starter On (Torque above 2/NG 12%) - Ignition On - Idle Control to Low Idle - AV Bus Tie In - Bus 2 On

OK thank you. I'm flying. (I'm ashamed to admit that the problem, i think,  was that I didn't realise there was an EFB and I hadn't removed any of the covers and chocks!😂). All is well. Initial impressions are that its great addon. Not sure I like the actual plane though. It's an ugly lumbering pig of a thing!

It is a bit squirrely, but if your aircraft is within CG limits and trimmed correctly, it helps a lot. Also check the wind direction at the airfield, although you probably already do that.

The built in checklist is really good. It starts with a preflight where you remove those covers and chocks. It even bounces around in different views so you can just click them. 🙂

I was flying an air drop mission in the Black Hills, and on the return to Rapid City I realized this is where Mount Rushmore is supposed to be. So after looking for it for a while I found it. Very cool.

I’ve done a hot start or two and it certainly makes some noises that very clearly tell you the engine is destroyed and you’d better reset the sim 🙂

Done four flights in the Himalayas and Portugal. Too early to judge except to say that I like her. Fond memories from the FSD Porter came back from the past.

A couple of remarks.

First the trivial things :

- can't catch the parking brake release cable with my mouse as the condition lever hit box is too large and on the way. Please Milviz !

- isn't the Porter supposed to have an oil cooler ?

Then, more important, the lady copilot is really cute but has terrible hands and the leather jacket looks cheap.

You know you've got a good aircraft when the leather jacket of the copilot is the biggest complaint. 😄

I agree about the parking brake, but when I'm using TrackIR it's no issue, just look around the throttle.

from the devs:  The Porter does have an oil cooler and it works as intended.

The fact that the condition lever can block the parking brake from the pilots camera view… yeah, that’s not able to be changed. Procedures call for the Porter to be taxied in low idle anyhow, and when in low idle, the condition lever hit box does not block the parking brake.

The lady in the leather jacket with the hands is, sadly, going to stay as she is.
