September 29, 20214 yr The wing tank fuel transfer pumps work at around 50% of the speed the fuel consumption at around cruise, meaning the main tanks will drain half as fast if you have the pumps turned on. I figured that out the hard way after almost draining the main tanks before transferring fuel. A little diversion was needed, but it was fun. CJ4 for the icy IFR days... but mostly just my Turbo Arrow. I do like bush flying, but as a tailwheel pilot in real life, I find the in sim tailwheel handling so poor. That's where I hesitate. I also hate the stock G1000.
