AIG AI Manager OCI for MSFS - quick first steps (video)

Anyone else having issues installing the 'big' airlines?  For example, It will install Qantas cargo but not Qantas.  I've tried downloading all of the main airlines and the download just doesn't start.  I then tried to install everything and it downloaded everything apart from the main airlines which ultimately are all I want...

I'm trying to install all of the airlines on AIG but the problem I'm having is that it takes so long to download the packs that I have to turn the PC off before bed. I turned my PC on this morning and ran AIG at 8am so I could come back and start the installation/downloading again but 2 hours later I'm still on the splash screen 'collecting flightplans'.

Is this normal? It's going to take me weeks at this rate to get all the packs.

For me it takes a long while but not 2 hours. Maybe 10 minutes. I already have around 250 flight plans/ airlines installed. I only selected the major airlines in the areas I fly most and left the corporates and smaller carriers.

I think that AIG are also having some server issues at the moment which might be causing the longer loading and downloading issues.

you may have to reinstall AIG manager 1.1.. delete current 1.1 and reinstall latest version (which is also confusingly named 1.1), it then auto updates and should work after that.. I was stuck yesterday where it never showed any online flight plans, but after this it worked fine and i downloaded almost all US carriers.. so now I fly with live traffic (AIG + PSXT + RT) within US.. there are some PSXT issues, but that's a different topic..

Tried Windows 7, 8, admin mode, traffic as low as 50%, no other SimConnect related apps running but AIG TC, well, crashes all the time, after 5 to 45 minutes, but still crashes.

This morning, I even wasn’t on a flight, I opened MSFS on the world map, and sure enough, after several minutes, AIG TC crashed again…

Easy to blame MS or Asobo for that, but I don’t see the same from other addons…

AIG has a nasty habit of putting pop up windows behind other windows and hanging until you acknowledge them. Next time you think it's hung, make sure there aren't any pop up dialogs hid behind another window waiting for you to click on them.

I also suffer from really frequent TC crashes, but coincidence or not, since I stopped using the tick for "inject traffic" resulting in an auto-injection as soon as TC is up and running, TC never crashed anymore. For now, this is my routine (without auto-injection): I fire up MSFS, just right after I fire up TC. Then I do my flightplanning/-selection as ususal, as soon as I sit on the tarmac, I switch to TC and manually click on "inject traffic". So far, so good.

Will give this a try, my TC crashes too and if I'm not onto it and correct it, ill arrive at the airport with no traffic. Will try this method.

I'm having problems with the AI Manager,it takes to long to load and shows a empty drop down menu and an OK button that when you click it.It closes the app.

I use in the options section - AI Offline and traffic density of 50 - however before each flight you get asked to setup multiplayer/airtraffic/weather and time - guessing you need to set "Air Traffic" to off? and also do you need to set "time" to live? (seems when I dont select live I am not getting any AIG traffic?)

Traffic should be set to off.

AIG Traffic is injected with the Traffic Controller app.

thanks will set air traffic to off - is there any need to set time to live? (seems I only get traffic when I do this) - although for some airports like Seattle dont' seem to be getting any traffic....... )

The sim-time will be used by the AIGTC to inject the traffic that would be expected at that time (like 0800 at EGLL will be more busy than 1200). I never fly with live time, and it still works perfectly (also in Seattle, by the way, flew there three days ago).
You do use the AIGTC (AIG traffic controller), do you...?

yes i run the traffic controller only (starting it in game) - strangely I managed to get it working with kai tak (freeware version) and lots of traffic appeared appeared but just tried heathrow and seattle  and got nothing (whole airport was empty) - tried varying the date/time still nothing - couple of things I noticed....

1)When in the big squares "air traffic" menu - below the muliplayer options if I set traffic to off -  in the "traffic menu" option in general options under aviation traffic it seems to switch my aircraft traffic type to "off" I then have to manually change it to "AI offline" which I understand is required....is this normal and what is the correct setting for each of these?

2)My air traffic controller app is version (0.5.0.21) and seems to load correctly but strangely I can't view it properly - if I window out of MSFS - then hoover over it I just get a black/grey square(clicking on the square will not make it fully appear) - so I can't seem to cycle through/see the pages to check its all set up ok although when I start it initially everything appears to load ok and it appears running....any ideas how to fix this? (without MSFS running it loads but again I get a grey square with no detail!)

3)Whole thing seems to be slightly flaky and random - unless I have to wait 10-15 minutes at the start of each flight for everything to load up?

4)Also just purchased the ini version of heathrow - so just ran a flight from heathrow  again and this time got full traffic as soon as the flight started!(picked an early morning monday time slot rather than live time)

So your AIGTC doesnt correctly start? I think you might need to redownload. This is not normal and therefore can be the explanation for your experience.

Oh and you do NOT set traffic to „AI offline“, because then you will see traffic - but generated by MSFS (with AIG liveries) and all over the place with no real life connection. You need to set traffic to „off“ inside MSFS. Also you need to set ground aircraft to 0.
