So what you are saying, is if a few people come up with an idea of a new Aircraft, charge around $60 for an Alpha version, we should all jump at the chance of buying it, sort of like a Go fund me deal? This is especially relevant to me , because I bought a finished product for the same amount of money 7 months ago.

I never liked the concept of Go Fund Me, many people got burned contributing to it. All I am saying is, I would be more than willing to purchase a working product, and until such time, will wait an see what happens. 

After reading and watching all about it, I bought the Connie enthusiastically. I passed on the DC-6. PMDG did not have a plan to model vintage systems (modern radios indeed). The Redwing Connie is old and true to period.

Yes the DC-6 product is better. But I don't like it much. Separating what you are sure is better from what you like better is a sign of an intelligent being living properly. There are lots of movies that I think are excellent. But because I don't think I would like them a whole lot, I probably won't watch them.

In other words I don't have the time and money to buy every plane. I'm going to focus on those I pretty sure I'm going to like. And the 1049 from Redwing is currently the favorite plane in my hangar.

I don't know why you have such an aggressive stance. I understand you are looking for a more complete experience. It get it but you come here on this thread and spread only negativity. I understood your point the first time you express them. You can always wait until it is to your satisfaction before purchasing it but I think the feedback that they receive so far from people who took a leap of faith is making it a better product.  Maybe they could have released it at a lower price but after you remove the 30% cut, there isn't much left for them. this is a difficult business to be in.  Yes, they could have waited to be further along but after spending year of doing Waterfall project development for close to 20 years, waiting until the end it not always the right way.  This is why Agile development was invented. Create a working MVP and iterate base on feedback. This is what they are doing.  If you don't want to support this practice, fine. Come back later then. Stop pestering people who wants to talk about it. There is enough toxicity to go around. We don't need more of it here. You prefer the DC-6 than go fly it.

The poster that I just reposted to, pulled my post from the first page of this thread that I posted almost a week ago . Here is what it said:

"I seriously doubt if it will even come close to the DC6. The DC6 is way better than the A2A Connie in my opinion, and I can't imagine this aircraft even matching the A2A version. "

So you call that "an aggressive stance"? What is aggressive about it?

I was referring more to your stance on the pricing of the addons. Everyone has their right to prefer an aircraft over another. I like the DC-6 a lot. I am flying it right now.   But if you are going to make a statement like you did you should at least give argument on how you came to that conclusion so that other forums users understand.

Simple, the finished DC6 cost me $59 dollars. The alpha version of the Connie is $2-3 less, I believe. They stated if you didn't purchase the Alpha version, the completed version will probably be more money, which would price it above the DC6. That is a deal that doesn't interest me at all, But, each to his own. 

The price of the wonderful Redwing Sim L-1049 at Simmarket is $50.56 (42.35 Euros).

I bought it today, and so far have only had time to explore the cockpit. Looks great to me. Excellent textures, a cockpit that shows a good deal of wear in a realistic manner. Gentle vibration of the yokes and gauge needles at idle. Good impression so far. I hope to fly it tomorrow.

I think the Connie looks better in this video compared to the official ones and reviews on Youtube. At 03:00:30 he discusses whether it is worth the money.

03:06:30 (down the rabbit hole) he will definitely get the Fokker 28 when released but not the CRJ. He likes vintage flying over the modern. His choices turned out to be the same as I had made. I love the L-1049 like he does. The F16 or F18 not interested. But the Hawk and 339 an enthusiastic buy.

Pulled the plug and purchased. Love it, graphics are fine. Might take awhile to get to know her though. Seems she likes the mixture real lean and pull back on power right after takeoff or power will decrease and she will sink like a rock. 

Buy it, have fun, it feels like your really in that cockpit, really !

I think after a patch or two she'll be much more usable. I know purists like the lack of any modern radio equipment but I would like the option to throw a GNS430/530 in there as it's getting more and more difficult to navigate conventionally in a lot of countries now.

Hi Fogbound, since you have been flying this a few days and speaking with the developer, I have a question:

There are three downloads for this plane on Simmarket. The first one is the aircraft itself, which I have installed and seems to be working OK. What are the other two Ashampoo download files?

I had to download all three files when I installed the Connie, I didn't at first, so when I tried to install it, I was asked to put disc1 into my pc, downloaded the missing file and it loaded. If you want the smoke you have to download an extra file as well.
