Right now that I just had fine-tunned my 5.2 HF2 🙂

Is there a simple way to upgrade withou uninstalling Orbx Global + Libraries + Airports, Aerosoft Madeira X, FSLabs A319 / 20 and PMDG 777 as well as A2A P-40, and then P3D v5.2, and then installing back everything ?

Sure...what I am about to do, when the coffee finished perking...

Edit.  Was just informed (read posts below) that a FULL install, Client, Content and Scenery is required for v5.3.  So, I am about to delete all Client, Content, and Scenery...and then use the SET UP app.  Bummer..but it is...what it is...and I thank those below to bringing this to my attention...saved me "hey...this is not working...blah, blah"...

 

Then, I would go to Orbx Central and re-sync with that one key press v5.3. That's all you need to do there....and of course update anything that needs updating like H.F. and GSX.. Finally go into your Hidden Folders and delete your Shader Folder. This will then rebuild and you will not have shaders present from v5.2.  Enjoy..for I SURE AM ABOUT TO....  I can just hear it now..."Honey...turn off that computer and for goodness sakes, .come to bed!  All of you are just kids...".  Yep..expect to hear that sometime tonight..."

That isnt correct for this version. Due to the new PBR textures you will also need to delete your scenry as well.

Please be aware that unlike previous version updates both content and scenery are required to be updated with version 5.3. Completely uninstalling the previous verions and running the full installer is recommended.

Oh..you're kidding me?  Really?  PBR...BUMMER....ok...bummer...this is then going to be a long....long...night...dang!  Thanks...and can I read that...where can I read that that is recommend before I delete the whole shebang.  Thanks!

I wonder then, if I did all that...and then did just a Orbx Central re-sync..would that place in and overwrite all the files needed to get back my Orbx this 'n that?

Will do so right now...and I didn't read any of the thread yet, was so excited to download and get going...so that is why I posted as I did...or would not have.   Ok...coffee is ready...and night of reinstall....

Edit: So, I just deleted my (in order...)  Scenery/Content/Client (but did not delete the license)  I also have my v5 Academy Install intact 68GB. So will use set up...and run the whole shebang.

Yep, I can get a smooth 50fps in every a/c I have in my hangar, in any weather scenario, with AI, with pretty much top notch settings, in 4k....except the NGXu

Right now I have the Q400 at 50fps at dawn in LDDU, and its only pushing 40% core 0 CPU, the 3090 is barely breaking a sweat at 50%.

It has always been my experience when reinstalling the scenery a full reinstall of all ORBX global and landclass as well as Vector is the best way to avoid the patches of night textures showing through in day.

Yeah, I always do that for archive...but have just deleted the  Scenery/Content/Client..and am about to run the Set Up app as soon as finish posting here....I wish us both good luck!

Yeah, looks like a long night, but want to do this right...and be blown away with my first initial running...:)  So, I'd better get to it...

The NGXu. But because I limit fps to 30 via VSync I judge performance on slewing the aircraft up to 200ft and then rotating through 360° and if it can maintain 30 throughout that would be perfect.

If 30 cannot be achieved I have set FSUIPC to delete AIG Ai until it can be with a minimum of 60 Ai to remain. If no Ai are deleted with v5.3 that would indicate an improvement.

I’m assuming you’re not using any Ai.

Ray, doesn’t look like they did anything about the missing gates at default airports.
