So just to get this right...Can I just delete my Client, Scenery, and Content, and RESINSTALL those 3 files?  OR do I have to do a complete reinstall of P3d?

Stan

Uninstall Client. Choose no to deactivating your license.

Uninstall the rest of 5.2 (there should be one more P3D option besides Client in add/remove programs)

Install the 5.3 setup

I am downloading 5.3 now (download is going very slow). I am really looking forward to installing the update!

One of the improvements says "improved cloud appearance when intersecting terrain". Does this have to do with mountains disappearing behind clouds when looking at certain angles?

Then open up Orbx Central and go to your BASE, and use 'verify' on everything that is in there, for this will place all those files that sit in the Scenery Folder.  Then, use re-sync so all the other airports and stuff are seen by the install on first run.

I've just read this and I believe you got me confused. Can you please describe how to "re-sync" ?

I see what is the "Verify Files" option, but I fail to see what is "re-sync"?!

Has anyone tested the CRJ yet with 5.3. Aerosoft has basically given up on P3D so if there’s any major issues we’re pretty much SOL.

Does ORBX stuff have to be loaded in an external library for this to work. Mine is in the main sim folder and it seems it takes a full install of global and vector to git it right.

Did anybody figure out how this worked. I found no changes it the sdk documentation for prepar3d.cfg

Someone earlier said it was in the learning center on their site, but I haven't found anything yet either.  Would like to read about it.

Not necessarily, but certain files are over written by ORBX global / openLC, so when you reinstall the entire simulator those files get reverted back to their default files. If it's outside the sim, it makes copies of those files. Verifying the files in ORBX central should replace it with ORBX stuff though.

OK, thanks. Seems for me uninstalling then reinstalling is the only thing that repairs the night patches issue. Really doesn’t take much more time then running the verify files.

I finally got P3D updated to v5.3 and I must say I really like this update. I will say this though, when I used P3D v5.2 I had the Amortize Cloud option on and the distort effect wasn't that bad for me. With the new v5.3 that distort effect was a whole lot worse! I had to turn that option off.

Go to the gear icon, for settings and then on the left side pick HELP, and then you will see on the right side where you can force a re-sync. Do that...and if Orbx Central tells you it was successful, you are good to go. What it does, is to make sure that all that is in your local Orbx Folder has correct entries in the Scenery.cfg file.

Correct, just VERIFY files on everything you have in your GLOBAL screen...choose each one down the line and verify the files. Anything that is missing in the Scenery Folder will be once more written...

I'm still not sure what this feature is supposed to do...?
