December 5, 20214 yr I recently complained loudly about the high temperature at FL240 and above and that we are constantly used as beta testers. I guess it was a bit too loud, because the thread got locked. But the bug got fixed _over_the_weekend_. I am impressed and thank you, whoever is responsible. I must admit, no other developer has ever done such quick fixes! Kudos! Most of what is said on the Internet may be the same thing they shovel on the regular basis at the local barn.
December 5, 20214 yr Seems to be inconsistent, since I still had the issue at 35000 feet. Solution for me: lower flight level. Unlike some other folks, I don't get bent out of shape by this, since I expect these kind of teething problems, I just keep flying.

That's right--wise to keep expectations aligned w/ reality, that is, teething problems, and still delivers shockingly compelling experiences. Even the ATC which has some glaring troubles is very effective in many ways--it's just those are often ignored in favor of focusing on where it's borked. Really just needs a bit of attention to fix it's current troubles. December 6, 20214 yr Its not 100% fixed - I still have it occasionally (This AM somewhere over Denmark on my way to Torp) - - its better and for me not a 100% show stopper (Still dumb in my book) - but I am going to be doing shorter flights until the more permanent fix comes out at some point down the road.
December 6, 20214 yr Good to hear positive comments as most rants tend to be too harsh. The initial DX12 phase implementation brought issues into play, but that is ok, I rather have a sim that is continuously being updated and evolving. I don't know I was really enjoying giving Lockheed Martin $200 every two years for a major 'update' the only meaningful one of which was to 4.x w/ its 64-bit compatibility. Gave them $600 over the years, starting w/ version 2.0, you know the one that caused light to reflect off of autogen? I think that was about it plus some stellar performance improvements (cough cough). Then there was another $1500 to Orbx, which in the end almost all I disabled in order to get perfect performance out of the PMDG birds while flying at night when P3D scenery looked and performed best 🤣. I for one never liked P3D, paid for a 1month subscription for v2 (I think) didn't like it and went with XP. I think P3D has been a money pit for a lot of people, glad I didn't spend a dime on it other then the 1 month subscription. December 6, 20214 yr There's no question it's been a money pit for a lot of people especially when compared to what you got for MSFS, including highly useable default planes. The irony for me was I ended up disabling 80% of it in the end to get performance in the PMDG birds to where it needed to be, and even that was by vsync to a 30hz screen. I had lots of enjoyment out of P3D but a good part of that came from FSCaptain towards the latter several years. The expense was in some way forced upon them, because P3D without $$$$$ would just be another FSX. However, I can agree that we spend $$$$$ on whatever is necessary to keep our hobbies interesting. I've spend $$$$ on my RC airplanes/helicopters, although contrary to P3D, in my particular hobby, I do have a rainbow a choices.
