M.S.F.S: "Maybe-Should-Fix-Something"

Featured Replies

As far as I can see none of these responses address the point I made in the earlier post. If folk aren't happy then by all means complain, it does have an impact..........Fact.

Don't be scared, you won't get punished, the software won't get pulled because of complaints.

Yes, generalized complaining exemplified in this kind of hyperbole, "The software is full of bugs many of which are not being addressed and show no sign of ever being addressed...." absolutely does have an impact--but we disagree as to exactly what that impact ends up being, from development thru marketing.

They could also be missed opportunities. Glass half full, glass half empty…

I'm an old guy and have been flying flight simulators since the days of Pro Logic.  I probably haven't tried all of them, but a great number of them.  I do have one piece of history here that many don't recall.  Several years ago, maybe 2012, Microsoft introduced a simulator called "Flight".  The scenery and one or two aircraft were a free download.  The scenery was Hawaii only.  For the time, it was remarkably good and basically tried to make everything a "game" wherein you gained "awards" for different mission type assignments.  It was very good and you could buy extra aircraft to whet your appetite for extra accomplishments.  They then offered Alaska, but at a cost.  No problem - it was good.  Then they started offering aircraft to buy, after which you found that they had no cockpits.  You could only fly while seeing the exterior of the aircraft.  The interest declined for me and many others, but the original Hawaii and Alaska sceneries were good, so I continued to fly free roaming flights.  Lots of fun.  Then they dropped the program.  They put out nothing new and after a couple of years, I lost everything I had bought.  This was in the days of a new version of Windows every year or two and you just lost programs or they wouldn't run anymore.  They later mentioned it in some correspondence (online - not to me) and said that you could recover your downloads.  I tried and was told that too much time had passed and I was not eligible.  I say this as a word of caution regarding criticism of the parent company and Asobo and partners as they have produced a pretty much earth shaking work of art and while it does have "glitches", it all boils down to finance and if that drops, the program will drop as it has in the past.  Enjoy the ride guys and girls, because we are riding a beautiful wave and don't want to end up with our heads stuck in the sand.

Hopefully Asobo ignores Avsim lolol. They have enough vitriol on the official forums to deal with 😆

Respectfully, but aren't you doing the exact same thing?  You obviously saw the title of the thread - yet you entered anyway.  You have responded 3 times - 1 more than the OP! - who has just as much right to post here as anyone else.  Don't like the subject? Then don't enter and read it and simply..... move on.........

Yes I posted about many issue here. But on the way I learnt that the best way to get heard by Asobo is to write on official forum and up vote. As you noticed we have not one but tons of threats similar to this recently. I just channeling rant to right direction. Enough "beating the dead horse". I hope it make sense.

Makes perfect sense - and actually, I do agree with you.

My point was that when the "stop beating the dead horse" voices become just as loud (or louder) than the "beating the dead horse" voices, maybe it's time for both sides to take a step back and (hopefully) find some middle ground.

Or, do what I have done for years, simply read (what you want) in the forum and don't feel compelled to post.  ......................Now, I'm running the risk of " beating a dead horse". 😁

The middle ground you're referring to is taking the time and effort to provide feedback thru channels setup for feedback, versus whining, generalized unfocused complaints and ridiculous statements made like this, ""The software is full of bugs many of which are not being addressed and show no sign of ever being addressed...."  That's not feedback it's garbage noise.  You're right about one thing:  when trolls post it's probably better to ignore rather than feed them.  The problem is they ultimately do more harm than good, which is why they're challenged in these sorts of threads.

C'mon Noel, what "harm"? To your ego or your agenda? To the potential future sales of MSFS, Lol?

Shushing fellow forum members didn't save Aces, nor the franchise way back then, did it? Thick skinned Phil Taylor still stopped by regularly.  No, I recall Aces got the rug pulled out from underneath them, by..............sssshhhhhh

Maybe the "stop beating the dead horse" crowd needs to check THEIR emotions at the door before they enter a topic which was clearly not going to be complimentary to the developers.  That's my point.  Why are the naysayers voices and opinions any less than yours, or mine.

If you don't like the Topic/Post - move on and let it ride.  Besides, some people just like to blow off some steam - nothing wrong with that and the middle ground in me says that's deserved, in many ways, without having to waste even more time filing some worthless Zendesk report.

And what makes "them" a troll, and not you?  Oh, that's right - you're the one who takes the bait............

Alas, I've broken personal rule #2.  Time to go back incognito for awhile and simply read posts here.

Don't agree at all 😉  Filing (worthless as you call them) Zendesk reports is the only proper way of providing feedback to the devs, in addition to the official forums. That being said, the Zendesk report feedback could be improved. Marking a report as "Solved" actually translates to: "Thanks, has been forwarded".

Well let's see I don't personally have anything in it, so no not my ego.  But it's definitely my agenda, which is to see MSFS continue to progress.  The harm comes by sending the message out to fore example would-be buyers who read some of this unbalanced tripe, then decide not to jump in, and transmit the mime to others because that what social media does, which is what this is.  As I say I fly nearly every day and find I do nearly everything I ever did in P3D, flawlessly, and yet were I to read these sorts of threads I might not jump in believing it's full of bugs with no evidence these will ever be addressed, to quote these unbalanced, untrue comments.  I don't believe they drive Asobo to do better either.  Both of those comments are absolutely false, you know it, I know it, people who fly here every day know it, but someone visiting here may not have a clue. So I present the other POV to offset this sort of thing and will continue to do so.

We could also an opposite form of unbalanced tripe.  I won't do it by posting a new thread, but if I did, here is what the title might look like:

"MSFS = Absolute Perfection!"  I would then go on to describe what works exceedingly well in MSFS, and there is ample already.

You can rest assured a different POV would come into this thread, and rightfully so, because it's equally unbalanced tripe.
