nowhere near ready for Any kind of release

depends on how you define near I guess.

current ETA for the first of many non beta releases of XP12 is circa 6 months.

Current ETA for the last of the MSFS updates is circa 12 months.

I'd say both are pretty near. Excited for both.

Not that excited for the beta process tbh, its always a complete pain in the words developers use to describe the organ users place on their chair.

And here we go again... same old arguments, same old crashing bores at it. This will, of course, not end well.

Must be a lot of people on drugs I thought this was about Release Notes. Put them tablets away please.

Im waiting for the  "where our money you promised" from the investors. But I digress, was funny to see someone actually ask for the password. What foolishness.

I think most of us know Greazer and his posts - and we chuckle when we read them. No need for a heavy hand by mods.

Some of us here know how to push those buttons for the MSFS afficionados and it isn´t surprising (and a bit amusing) to see them blow their lid when those are pushed.

It is super frustrating - especially when you proclaimed total victory many months (years) ago - to see the allegedly defeated foe flourish and prosper.

It is a fine line between discussing X-Plane and it´s competition including the pros and cons - and posting stuff just to make the other side upset.

I’ve hidden multiple off topic posts including several insulting ones.

The next time anyone mentions MSFS in an XP topic, has a go at moderators or makes personal insults towards another member they’ll get a long holiday.

Why are the usual suspects continuing to ignore the many warnings they’ve received? You’re really on your last lives now.

Cease or face the consequences.

They may amuse you but they are irritating to many and spoil the discussion.

Moderators don’t step in without good reason. Some of the comments are way beyond what is acceptable and the posters know it.

Just use the Ignore User option. That’s why it was introduced.

What I wonder about is why some people approach flight simulation with the current corrosive tribal mentality the seems very pervasive in public discussions these days.

We are here(or should be) because....

We are all fascinated by aviation.

We are pilots or learning to be.

We would love to be pilots but aren't due to reasons like time, lack of finances for lessons, or physical limitations.

But the point is Options, Options, Options.

If there are multiple platforms each with unique strengths or weaknesses, that is very good for the Flight Simmer. It is better now than it ever was to be a flight simulator hobbies with multiple platforms, many expansions for them, and so many great peripherals to control them with. Flight simulation has never been better so why do some feel the need to be negative?

Go X-Plane

Go 2020

Go P3D

Go DCS.

It's all good people and we all love the same great endeavor called FLYING.

Spot on, sadly some idiots just don't get it.

They would be the same in any other hobby, my cars got bigger tyres, my rhubarb grows better than yours, these burgers are best, yours are rubbish etc.

Silly, silly, silly, school yard behaviour but they just can't see it, no matter how it's explained.

Stupid is a word that springs to mind

Maybe XP12 get's released before Christmas ! 😎

Is that really fair though?  I am on plenty of other forums such as MMO forums, where people will say "I hate how game X handles feature Y, wouldn't it be better if they went the same route as game Z?".  It makes sense and widens the discussion.

I don't think it should be shut down completely, but obviously if it adds nothing constructive to the discussion or is wildly off-topic it can be shut down by mods.

The ignore option does not really work when the same people derail every post, there would be very little to read🤪

I really don't get it.  Tribalism is the right word. I couldn't say it better. I posted the Xplane 12 because I was curious to see if LR is planning on maybe doing an Early Access Beta maybe sooner than we thought.
