I think I might shelve this until they get the weather sorted better.  Even with the beta there still seems to be issues at times and dealing with it gets tedious.  My wish would be to push the fixes for those items that are fixed and revert the weather back to what it was pre-SU7.  Let them struggle with fixing it on their own machines and then when it's good and ready, push out the fix for the weather then.

I'd be happy if they upgradded nothing elese but fixed Track-IR that we paid $150 for.

Or issue the hotfix for the track IR now, which is almost a month overdue.

If you want a stable MSFS, install it in the default location.

Nonsense, it's the other way around if ask me.

I have it on a different location and I haven't had one single issue, in fact, when I did a clean install of Win11 all I had to do to install FS2020 is to point the installer in that location, that was it, it only installed the core files on C drive.

Disclaimers like this kinda scare me:

"Please be aware that participating in this flight comes with installation and update risks. If you have MSFS content installed completely on a custom path, you will have a much lower chance that a full re-install will be necessary when the update is officially released. However, if your sim content is installed in the default path selected by the in game content manager, you MAY have to reinstall the whole sim when moving from the test build to the public build."

Back up the files first then, or do as it suggests and move them it a custom path.

Guess you didn't read what I posted and my reasoning for not using the beta. I do not want to be a beta tester, I did that for years with several products, not interested in it anymore.

Just wanted to chime in with another one of my findings.  After the Beta update a few more updates came for various things like all the FS versions and Reno updates.  For a beta this sure looks like the Hotfix.  Anyway after installing all the version updates, it looks like the "^%$#&^%$#&Microsoft*@(!&(*" problem is gone with getting takeoff/landing clearance.  Looks like weather can use a little bit more work but outside of that many problems are now fixed as I outlined earlier.

Like many of us my install is not on the default C:\.  This shouldn't be an issue, but we'll see.

Just bought an airport from the Marketplace without issue.  So, I'm leaning on the fact if that worked the official update shouldn't be a problem seeing as it's coming from the same place more or less.
