The fog/haze is a big leap in realism and the beta has fixed it.  I purchased Rex on day one, but only used it occasionally to test, after discovering the massive stutters during weather updates.  The complete lack of weather approaching in the distance was also jarring.

My last flight was between Los Angeles and to the east of Las Vegas.  MSFS live weather was not starting so I loaded Rex.  I was very surprised when REX covered the desert in snow - is snow normal for the desert in California at the moment?

It's a beg step if done correctly.

As I said, REX isn't perfect but IMO it's better than the current live weather from Asobo. I just flew into the Portland area and decided to test REX and MSFS live weather. The live weather had broken volcanic ash clouds of doom and thunder when metar called for 44 degrees and overcast. I loaded REX and sure enough, overcast as you would expect in the pacific northwest.

They complain about Asobo needs to spend more time fixing bugs. So they do that by making this beta last longer and public for everyone to issue more fixes. Now they complain they are not getting the fix fast enough. They are impossible to please.

This is not exactly how you have explained it. Betas should not be tested by the customer who has paid for a product: finished.
What they do is make you participate in their work and put you to test. Something they should have done before. It is as if the taxi driver said: "I am going to give you the pleasure of driving my car while I rest for vacations." Only the dumb customer accepts those rules.

Does the beta version show the annoying on screen gamertag?

What’s this nonsense? Betas are normal in software releases.

beta fix is a joke. Sometimes normal things doest mean they are correct.

if i buy a car, the car has to work. i dont need any fix after. at least during first two years.

Okay, from the example you gave, I wish Microsoft just gave you back your refund so we don’t have to read this nonsense.

Unusable state is very strong, I'm flying everyday!  I'm sure others are as well.

Exactly this.  Can't believe I see so much whinging in here.  I'm not running the beta hotfix and I'm enjoying the sim just as much as ever.  Our flight groups run a combo of fixes for TrackIR and VR and are enjoying all this amazing simulator has to offer.  Is it ideal?  No.  Are there work arounds for the issues?  Yes.  So give the Asobo guys a break, the sim is amazing and quite flyable and how refreshing is it that we have regular ongoing developer updates, FREE content along with major world updates every other month.  Go and grab the new Kodiak and Freedom Fox and find a nice part of the world to fly to and land at with your friends.  And most of all, have an amazing Xmas and New Year.  Jase

Jaseman. Lovin it up here........

One thing that this thread has accomplished is that my Block list has grown from 1 to 3 now. #4 is pending.

I am flying from KSEZ to KHND.  MSFS Live weather was clear sky, even though the ATIS was reporting high overcast.  I loaded REX and I did indeed see a very well represented overcast.  20 minutes into the flight the overcast changed to blue sky with snow covering the ground.

It is these hard transitions I find hard to deal with - but REX did represent current conditions better.

For sooooo many reasons, buying a car is absolutely nothing like buying software during its development cycle.
