I wonder why some people say MSFS is for VFR only? try some winter snow fog 200 feet minimums IFR night flying, it will keep you busy until whenever Asobo releases the next updates.

People that say you can't fly IFR in MSFS, are clueless. Every flight I go on for my VA airline, is IFR. Never have a problem.

I have installed Beta and I realize that I will probably need to reinstall the game when the official patch is released, but what worries me most is if I need to reinstall everything in the Community folder, and all programs outside the game.

never had to do this. but if you are afraid: simply rename or temporarily move the community outside of the MSFS folder and after applying any updates, move it back again. if you rename or move the community folder temporarily, make sure to create an empty community folder before installing MSFS, because if it doesn't find the community folder, it will think MSFS is corrupted and will start to re-download the whole game.

"I dont want *that* hotfix!!!!!"

Seems easy for Steam users, not so much for MS Market Customers, that I have read.

I just installed is. You have to install Xbox insider hub app first and then join that   I have the store version but a few pages back steam is explained in detail.

Excellent, this now fully confirms my hesitation with opting into the Beta via Steam.  What you are saying is that once the SU or Hotfix is formally released - you will be doing a 300 MB reinstall as at that time you will have to unselect Beta in the Steam menu.

I suspected all along that a reinstall was required for Steam users - one way or another.  I will continue to wait for the real update.

i never actually bothered to opt out of Betas. i just run the game as usual, it prompts me with a new update (when the beta stop and the updates goes live). then the game compares what i already with what it wants to install. and only downloads what it needs to get me up to date.

I guess things could go wrong, im not seeing how, but theres always a possibility. like ceossing the street everyday i suppose.

I have the store version, installed the XBOX insider app, joined, and nothing...

t's easy to dismiss others when you don't read the thread properly

Its easy to asume something which far from the truth. AFAIK, there is no "hotfix" coming, Asobo will release a SU7 update/patch when it is good and ready. The only "hotfix" offered is in the form of beta.

I'm reading this thread as I'm flying over the glorious Rockies in a no-less-glorious Kodiak thinking... should I just feel guilty for enjoying this product so much???

It's like I'm living in an alternate reality or something.
