The whole point of the current beta is for the changes and bug fixes to be tested by as many people as possible. That’s the best way to find out if known bugs are truly fixed or not.

Nobody is forced to use the beta. All those who are participating in the beta have freely volunteered to do so.

You are angry because MSFS doesn’t work right. Fair enough, but how is the software going to improve if it is not tested? 10,000 (or more) users testing the beta version and reporting bugs can do far more than 10 or 20 developers working at Asobo.

I'll go one further. Pm me the copy of your purchase receipt , and I will refund you the amount for your defective product via PayPal. I will post a copy of my payment to you on this here, and you will agree to stop the vitriol in every thread. It will be a worthy investment on my part just to enjoy this forum again.

Dont know about Xplane but LM Prepar4d, developers are very active on THEIR forum! Dont believe Xplane even has a forum. Beats the "Leave a vote" and we'll get back to you.

finished

Since when is the first release of a software product labeled "Finished", you assumed it was, there will always be updates/patches, like it or not. Get over it and just be patient.

Hmmm...eh I can see how someone new to pc simming/gaming would kinda expect MSFS to be a fully finished polished product.

Anyone with such experience in pc software from the past 20 years would be pretty much just making noise with venting/moaning at this point.

I have installed Beta and I realize that I will probably need to reinstall the game when the official patch is released, but what worries me most is if I need to reinstall everything in the Community folder, and all programs outside the game.

How to almost insure you will not have to reinstall the game when the official patch is released:

Move your Community and Official folders (these 2 folders are located in your Packages folder), move them to a non default location. I created a non default location: C:/MSFS2020. And into that folder I put the Community and the Official folders.

I did NOT copy and paste those 2 folders, I cut and pasted them. Cutting and pasting takes 30 seconds. Copy and paste could take over an hour. Because with cutting and pasting you are not moving any files on your physical hardrive. They will just have a new location in windows File Explorer, but remain where they are on the drive.

Then boot up MSFS and at the Checking For Update screens, STOP and browse to that new location. If you don't browse to it, then MSFS will download the whole sim all over again! No worries, just STOP at the Checking for Updates screen and browse to the new location, I browsed to C:/MSFS2020. And then MSFS will boot up normally and not download anything.

Then after doing and verifying that all is well in MSFS, exit MSFS and opt into the beta, such as in Steam or in the MS store.

I said 30 seconds, but if you aren't familiar with File Explorer cut and paste, then it make take 5 minutes as you do this slowly. But 5 minutes is a small price to pay for a wonderful Beta that solved so many issues, and also to insure you won't have to redownload the whole sim when the official Update comes.

Everybody should move out of the default location, even if they have no interest in the BETA. Remaining in the default location is risky! Sooner or later you will be redownloading the whole sim, perhaps more than once, if you stay at the default location.

This is something I have difficulty to understand honestly...

What is the difference between keeping it in the default location and moving it + telling MSFS where you moved it in order to download the files there on the occasion of the update? 🤷‍♂️
