Drzewiecki Design Chicago Midway (KMDW)

Featured Replies

I would never consider purchasing Drzewiecki's Midway until their Chicago Landmarks release is updated to get decent performance. I've had no performance issues with Drzewiecki's Washington DC Landmarks, but Chicago's Landmarks is a different story. The detail in all their releases is absolutely unsurpassed. But performance is hit or miss.

During the day, I have no performance issues with the Chicago Landmarks...but at night, it gets really GPU intensive with all of those lights. I do hope he will make a performance pass on that addon. This rendition of KMDW looks really good. Just need a decent plane to fly in and out of there.

Same here. Chicago Landmarks at night really drags. Oddly enough, I can get decent performance during the day when I fly directly over the city skyscrapers. But when I get perhaps half a mile south of downtown, performance really sinks even though that area is less detailed. I suspect this performance oddity has more to do with SU7 than with Drzewiecki.

I also think color wise it is way overdone. Downtown is not that colorful from the distance. Did you by any chance report any of this on their forums?

Well, i have the same  PC setup and addon software plus the new KMDW, i still get 30 fps, smooth no stutters at all. It is worth the money! Beautiful addon as always from DrZewiecki design.

Do you have any other Chicago area addons deployed?

I own FSDT KORD and purchased the KMDW add-on from DD. No performance issues for me, but I'll admit that I don't own Chicago Landmarks.

According to DD's Insta, either next week or the week after.

I finally purchased KMDW (couldn't resist). Very detailed and well done, with a lot of static aircraft, of course, mainly Southwest. The static aircraft are optional during installation. I also have Chicago Landmarks installed, and have to say that in general performance is not bad, only a bit affected when flying close to the downtown, but this last one is due to the Landmarks, not the airport itself.

It's certainly a very nice addition to the Chicago area, but if you have a medium to low-end system is better to avoid having the two add-ons working together.

Cheers, Ed

I have both add ons plus KPWK and FSDT KORD and I seemed to be able to maintain a locked 30 FPS-ish...a nice scenery.

just took a spin around this Midway and it is really good !!!

Finally got this airport and did a review of it. This is going to be a great airport for the PMDG 737!
