March 2, 20224 yr Wanna watch the Microsoft brigade in action? It has grown considerably. Live right now Seriously, anyone using the sim would be much more sympathetic knowing the frustrations that have been piling up, not dismissive.
March 2, 20224 yr VFR - map: Prior to SU 8, the map took quite some time to fully load the first time it was activated (the window popped up, was grey for about 2 seconds, then the map appeared). On every following activation, window popped up with the map already loaded (zero time delay). SU8: Everytime I activate the VFR map, it's like I activate it for the first time. It now always takes some time to show the map. For the first 1 to 2 seconds, it's just a grey window. Is this a bug or a feature?

March 2, 20224 yr Hi, For me, arming of the speed brakes no longer possible on all the jets after SU8. No matter what button or handle I bind to any of the 'arming of the speed brakes' options on the assignment page, it no longer triggers any response. Wondering if anyone else has had this problem. For me this started immediately after SU8 (prior to this, I have had months of very satisfying VR flying) I've raised a bug thread on the MSFS forum and notice that there is another VR mouse thread about similar issues - noted and logged by a number of users in the SU8 Beta Why I think the control settings may be the issue is that I also had a juddering and unresponsive rudder following SU8. It looked like a clash of bindings (one signal telling the rudder to move and another telling the rudder to centre). I could find no clashes at all, but switched my Thrustmaster rudder bar profile to 'Default' and that sorted the rudder....and that seems to have also sorted the VR mouse problem. More experimenting to do... Please report back if you can. I'm about to pull the trigger on MSFS and only fly in VR.

This is the most stable sim I have ever flown, and I started around three decades ago. No crashes, no CTDs, great looking Graphics, good FPS, I start a flight, fly, and land, with zero issues. Maybe the OP has some PC issues." Confused here in one statement you said you got a ctd, and than in a latter thread you said the above no ctd 🙂 Edited March 3, 20224 yr by pete_auau I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg

If you are loading MSFS from scratch, you are unlikely to hit problems with this particular issue as it seems to be clashes with custom bindings of the various joysticks/rudder pedals/etc previously set up that is causing the difficulties. If you are starting from scratch, the controls will start off with the 'Default' commands and so you shouldn't have the same issues. But to complete the circle: - Yes..,I can confirm that SU8 added some clashes with my previously set up custom controls and it was that which was causing the lag of the VR mouse. I tracked down the specific one causing my particular issues, which related to the rudder. I removed the conflicting commands (rudder bar was telling the sim to do one thing and the joystick twist was telling it to do something else) and, hey presto, the VR mouse is now working perfectly on both ASOBO and 3rd Party Aircraft and airports. Furthermore, I have now been able to investigate the improvements that ASOBO were introducing to the VR mouse and VR controllers in SU8 - and yes, on my system both are much improved. - And if you are thinking of pulling the MSFS VR trigger - yes, it needs some pretty powerful computing capacity, but it is simply breathtaking. Again assuming decent CPU/GPU/RAM and SSD and a decent headset, in my view MSFS is a game changer to anyone who enjoys flight sims and VR. Although I've noticed that it seems to only happen when commands are bound to just one key, for example, I have a cockpit view bound to F7. If I bind the same command to a key combination, for example, Alt + 1, then it's fine...
March 5, 20224 yr Since i installed update 8 i haven't been able to get past the load screen, i've tried everything i can think if but with no luck, I'm now at a total loss as what to do... Never had any trouble with any of the other updates so far just this one, Any help on this would be greatly appreciated .

I've been going all out on VR in P3D for a few years so I've updated my hardware to VR needs. It's still blowing me away on every VR flight and I have no doubt it's even better in MSFS with better performance, controller support and obviously the scenery/graphics.

When I set it back to neutral the mouse works again. Another thing I noticed is that I can‘t interact with buttons and switches with the mouse at times. I have to change my position and try it several times until it works. Moreover, when I click on a menu window and want to move it it‘s sometimes „glued“ to the cursor and I have to click multiple times to place the window. This happened before but only in Dev mode. It‘s rather annoying I have to say. Edited March 6, 20224 yr by Shack95 i9-11900K, RTX 4090, 32 GB ram, Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo, TCA Airbus sidestick and quadrant, Reverb G2
